Mid-price HDMI and ethernet cables

Thank you! Tubulus is new to me. I just checked their site and it looks interesting; the Concentus I2S is cheaper than the AQ Thunderbird, so I am definitely considering this one. They also make ethernet cables, so I could get both cables from the same maker.

Thanks for the buying suggestions. I have an AQ Vodka from my network switch to the Bridge II. There doesn’t seem to be anything in the AQ ethernet lineup between the Vodka and the Diamond. Maybe I could use my trade-in credit with PSA to get the Diamond cost down some.

This is very useful, since I have a Vodka currently feeding the Bridge. Sounds like the Diamond would definitely be a step up.

Luca has used AQ Diamond, but I believe he found one that made him happier. I lost track of his upgrades though. I like Inakustik Reference ethernet too, it is a well-balanced sounding cable. The SoTM Cat7 is very good in my system too, but it is more expensive.

But AQ Diamond for sure is an improvement over Vodka!

What you say about marketing is all true, and I’ve read the good reports about USB input in the Mk 2. I’ve always used I2S and liked it, and I still have hopes for the AirLens (I know, I know . . . . ) Just found out that my new DAC is arriving this week, so I have decide about a streamer ASAP – I thought I had another month or so.

I use Moon audio silver dragon and I am very happy with it. I was using wireworld ethernet cat 8 before.

I have been happily using Melco ethernet cables for a number of years with great results. Their new cable seems to lift the ground on one end. I am yet to try it. I briefly used AQ Vodka HDMI with Matrix XPDIF/2 then abandoned that setup and returned to Bridge II for good.

I am unconvinced I have ever heard an Ethernet cable. I have expensive ones and Microcenter types. They all sound the same to me. This is pleasing. I hope I never hear a difference. I’m guessing I will though. Bah.

You will, Al. But only on Tuesdays, and only when the Sun is facing your sound room from the West.

I heard more differences on USB and HDMI types, but little difference on ethernet, so far. That’s a very good news to me, so far.

Hello my recommendation is a linkup cat 8 solid copper (yellow) from Amazon. Kabel even has a test log. Plays musically. In the same class as an Audioquest Vodka. A Furutech NCF is a bit brighter. A Xangsane pure silver solid core from Aliexpress would also be interesting. If it should be the best, a J-cat Lan signature gold. It plays more musically, larger stage a notch above the Audioquest Diamond. Greetings Andrew
