Mobile Fidelity Quality - Am I just unlucky?

That’s only the case if you’re not ordering direct, they’re still normal prices although you pay for shipping of course. You basically have to get them on pre order.

Pre orders in the UK for One Step MOFI is £180.

As @weedeewop mentioned in the last year, I’ve picked up around 40 unopened & approx 20 older used Mofi pressings and I’ve been fortunate to have no issues with QC (warped, off center, nonfill, etc). I’ve also had good experiences with AP & Craft - maybe 25 pressings. The only issue I’ve had in the last year was a Nora Jones 45RPM AP pressing, which they quickly provided a new pressing (had me destroy the original).

I’ve picked up a handful of new pressings from others and have had my fair share of warped and off center pressings, so much so, that I rarely purchase a new pressing, especially if it’s been sitting around for months or longer with shrink on it. When I purchase via Discogs new / mint, I ask the seller to open and inspect. I prefer the pressing shipped outside as well to minimize damage to seams, etc.

I have heard horror stories from others and feel fortunate. Going forward I am being more selective and also looking more for older original / early pressings.

Well, it’s $125 for the record = £92

  • $40 shipping = £30
  • 20% import on £92 = £18.50

So roughly £140.50 rounding up.

I wish it was that easy. Where can i make this order please advise. FedEx for example will add £18 for handling import tax! In the real world everyone in the UK knows of an it costs $x in the USA it will be £x by the time it arrives. My quote for £180 is based on a UK pre order price. If you can find a US seller willing to send to the UK with prices you quote I would genuinely be interested. Only issue is that with a UK retailer our local laws for online shopping allows me to return in 14 days.

MCRU is a big MOFI retailer in the UK

That’s what I said originally, with Mofi, you always need to buy direct, otherwise you’ll pay through the nose.

There is only one MoFi website.
