@scotte1 sure thing. Did a bunch of listening with Darren and on my own to Shakti effects on PS Audio gear.
The most pronounced were the DACs. Looking at internal photos I did try above the toroid, but my two favorite spots on the DSJ were above the regulators and above the display. Above the regulators the dynamics were improved. Above the display the very high treble was improved. Made me want two Shakti stones, until I got SPTPC iconoclast speaker cables and decided to keep the stone above the regulators since the top end was so improved by the cables.
Above the DS DAC I found I prefer the stone slightly to the right side of median front to back and slightly to the back side of the median left to right.
The BHK pre responds less intensely to the stone but I like it over the display. So I think those OLED displays must kick out more EM than the touch display of the DS. Treble is improved above the BHK pre display but like I said the effect is less prominent than those on the DS DAC especially in that one location.

BTW, did you mean to write, …slightly to the right side of median left to right and slightly to the back side of the median front to back? I am a bit confused on the DS Sr. placement recommendation.

Completely unrelated to anything in this thread I just wanted to let you know that you solved a mystery for me on your latest podcast. My speakers are on the room’s long wall at the right end (open toward the left of the listening position) and I had an imbalance that I couldn’t get rid of except by shifting the balance control to the left a click or two and hat really didn’t fix it all of the way.
Using your example I pulled the left speaker (the one towards the open end of the room) towards me an inch and that was too much. Moving it back to be 1/2" closer to me was the ticket. Balance control back to centered and the sound field is centered and rock solid.
Being an OCD symmetry geek I had never considered that to be a solution.

Yep I use the Bridge II. Not surprising to me that it’s noisy - afaik Ted didn’t design that part, and there is a lot going on on that card.
@jazznut you know, I am bound to go down that road. @Vmax has a lot of interesting experiences with his absorber sheets, and I have always been “Bybee curious” and will at some point have to try an IQSE there and elsewhere. One tweak at a time, I suppose. A Shakti stone in the hand is worth two IQSEs in the shopping cart, as they say.

First of all I presume that you are employing an external 12 vdc lps to supply your analog PCB and that there is no Bridge installed.
If this is the case, then the stock power supply now becomes a dedicated 5vdc 100 va lps, that is now supplying 2 items, the digital input PCB and the front LCD display, via regulator U4.
Yes, replace the stock U4 with Sparkos SS1117XX Discrete Voltage Regulator - 5.0V
and use regulator U2 to supply the front display. Now U4 Sparkos becomes dedicated to the digital input pcb.
Replace C16 with KZ Nichicon, other members suggest 2 x 1000uf/25vdc KZ.
And if you enjoy feeling the earth moving beneath your feet, then replace C5 with Nichicon KG 10,000 uf / 50 vdc
Ted suggested replacing D1 to D8 with Hexfreds, I am doing Vishay VSSB410S Schotty.
Since I have a spare power board I am going to get these changes completed as soon as I receive all my parts.
And if I don’t love the outcome, then I will return to plan A.

I need to play with this a bit as I have the exact same scenario to a T (open room to the left from the listening position, stubborn about symmetry, etc.). Quick question: which way were you moving the balance prior to moving the left speaker forward slightly to compensate? To the right?
