Back with same problem: perfect wave disk drawer doesn’t open.
This is a recurring problem that needs attention.
Should I spent money to have the drive replaced (again). Or just buy a more recent CD drive??
The PWT is already considered (too) old??
My current system: BHK250, Perfect Wave DAC, Perfect Wave cd, Krell222 preamp, Michell deck and backup cdplayer by TEAC
It’s worth a new drive. But open it up, disconnect the cables from the drive itself. Then reconnect them again properly. That could maybe do it.
Two days ago the transport failed again to open. I decided to stop with this device and placed it on the heap of discarded electronics. Disappointing but I guess after more than 12 years It’s time look for something else.
I now use a new half size Teac player with it’s own DAC. It is not high end, but it made clear that my PWT/DAC produced over time a veiled sound and less deep/wide soundstage since … more than a year! I never A/B’d since I bought my gear that took me years…
Oh, and the TEAC produces bass with slam!!
A while back Dirk also had good things to say regarding a Teac player, punching well above its weight. I believe i was the VRDS 701T-J, sans DAC. Good to know you landed on a satisfactory solution.
Hi there, thanks for your reaction!
I was today looking at Advanceparis gear. It caught my eye as the reviews seems very favorable. And the price is very interesting indeed
. The Teac that I use is DABradio too. After I replaced my PWT/DAC it was a wonderful experience to listen to real time radio too
