I went to the upper right corner where there are three horizontal lines (between the search icon and your avatar). Click on this and it will bring up a sub-menu, one of the items is “Unread (x)” where x is the number of unread posts. Mine was in the hundreds. I clicked on it and it brought up a list of the posts. On the page is a box called “Dimiss”. If you click on that it will wipe everything you have not read. Warning, it will wipe everything. Also took it the active list on the right side of the home page where new and recently read posts were shown. I’m sure if you are bored you can read each one!
Edit: I browsed around then went to Home page and the list of recent posts on the right side was back, so maybe not quite as dire as I thought.
That’s the second incorrect username with a feminine name. Do we have some ladies here that don’t want us to know? This is such a male dominated hobby it’s refreshing and shocking to see a female amongst us! Just in case I’ve been ambiguous, I want women to enjoy our hobby. Too bad my wife could care less, but that might be a good thing since she can spend money on her hobby as well as I can!
I noticed this also. We have a number of lurkers with feminine appearing names who are very welcome to lurk or post.
I see at least as many women as men at concerts, and the women I know are exceedingly knowledgeable. While most have better hearing than men, women are typically not drawn to gear but are rather inspired by the music itself. I cannot argue with their priority.
I also can’t change my user name in preferences and it’s not my previous one (which now appears in the real name box). User name has been ‘jerryd6’ (since August 1999). Can this be changed back?
New forum is much faster and I’m getting acclimated to it. However I have one problem I can’t seem to resolve, my login name is still ‘audio.bill’ but my username is shown as ‘scrbblkng’. Not sure where that came from and I can’t seem to update it. I’d like my user name to simply be ‘audio.bill’ as it used to be. Please advise, TIA!
Is there a way to scale images that get inserted? The old system made it easy to scale a web linked image to something like 300x300. I don’t see anything like that now. Some images will be too big and others too small…or you have to have to hunt for the proper scale image…ug.
The Hoffman web site has the same problem. Seems elemental to good web hosting software.
