New Network Switch: LHY AS-6

Compared to your prior setup, how does the 333 sound at lower volumes? This may take several weeks until break-in is complete to understand.

You are right on the break in time, the low volume SQ continues to improve so the break in is not done yet. The first few days I need to turn the volume higher than before to hear the magic, but now I could enjoy the lower volume too. In a couple of weeks I will probably love it. Time will tell.

Back to topic…switches. I have some curiosity how the SW-10Pro would compare to the Tempus. The build looks good in the LHY.
NA claims that the key to good performance is the quality of the power supply. They use a proprietary switching supply as apposed to a common linear one used in the LHY. The switching PSU in the Tempus has “better dynamics and timing” in their estimation.
That could be, I don’t know.
I will be getting an Origin in soon to see if this “super supply” will help other digital devices, and I will start with the router. It could be overkill, but little attention is made by mass market digital companies
to weirdos like us that want a device that won’t add or attract additional noise.

I am interested to know if Origin on your router would make any improvement. The one possible “weak” link in my system could be the PS I used for Orbi sat. But I do use an AQ Dragon S. to feed the IFI iPower Elite PS. There was a trivial improvement surprisingly.

The Elite is a great power supply for not too much money, it replaced a Plixir power supply feeding a Melco S100, a worthwhile upgrade. And yes it responds well to a decent powercord

When I added a Sean Jacobs PSU to feed my router I didn’t expect it to make such a difference. I was wrong.

The Origin has replaced it last January and brought even more results.

Can’t explain why. But I was able to hear the improvement in quietness and clarity. What a strange hobby.

What! No, we need a second opinion. Straightwire, please tell us you are hearing little difference.

I got the Origin and its performance is really great. Also have been using several PSU from Keces etc or also the iFi Elite previously.
As I mentioned somewhere already it’s important to have all PSU in your system reaching a certain level. And the weakest will have a considerable impact on the overall performance.

I hear little difference because I don’t have it yet.
Believe it or not, I’m slow to tweak. I was looking to improve streaming and see what good grounding can do. A lot of correspondence and Axpona visits secured the “right” choices and I’ve been happy with those selections. There can be method in the madness.

Origin PS can be used for Orbi sat. since their spec. matches. I will probably go there too. I am quite happy with my system now so I can use a rest; unless straightwire reports later saying Origin is another “must have” It never ends.

My friend, you need to plan a new trip… take an audio-purchase break!

You are enjoying a brand new fabulous amp (unfortunately not in a perfectly symmetrical set up) that should satisfy all your desires for a while!

You can read my mind! We are going to visit my older daughter in October, and they are shopping around for their first home. I just booked another two-week trip at the end of year, and we will visit Sapporo and Taiwan for two weeks! Sapporo is known for great seafood in wintertime.

The cables are always on my mind, but I can wait. $2k+ PS for a Wi-Fi satellite sounds carzy even for me.

Are you moving soon?

Glad to hear that from you!

I put my audio purchases in stand-by as you know (for a good reason) and I’m listening to music frequently (but not daily as before). Lot of work during the day and things to decide about the new construction in the evening (wives dreams are so difficult to manage).

Hope within the end of the year to be ready to plan the move early in 2026.

Patience is a virtue but I miss my relaxed evenings (debating on this forum about tweaks).

Let’s guess there’s audio room dreams as well.

ohhh share pics! i did two separate huge renovations at the same time over 4 years (don’t ask…) and it was the nightmare you’d expect, but also exciting and gratifying when everything is done. a few of my fave details in the listening room: BASWA acoustic plaster over the non-functional fireplace that hides my Gryphon Essence (with dedicated 20A line of course), storage benches to stash all my cables and accessories, and a discreet speaker wiring channel.
