New SACD transport?

Is there any news on the new PS Audio SACD player which is to replace the PST? I had the PWT and liked it and now I have the PST and like it. I am only curious about the player that will replace the PST.

Others have guessed that PS Audio might have info at Axpona 2025

And possibly a new perfectwave preamp, are you sitting down? Without TUBES? Oh my goodness.

Hey, I’m down to 4 preamps and 4 power amps!!!
I don’t need encouragement to go back up to 5 preamps, lol

What I need is a Perfectwave Class D monoblock that is a level above M1200, then I am done!

I hope the new preamp is solid state with the soundstage of tubes. Could they pull that off?

Phono pre. At least two inputs, each fully configurable for either MM or MC. Add one transimpedance input. Dual outs (XLR / RCA). Gain to 70db. Noise floor lower than a Pass XP-27. Better sounding, too. Less than $5K.

A guy can dream…

I feel your pain! I understand the lure of the D333 and other heavyweight amps, but high-quality Class D monoblocks do exist. In fact, instead of having the patience to wait and see what PS Audio has in store for the future, I dove into the world of Class D GaNFET monoblocks a couple of months ago by purchasing a pair of Atma-Sphere Class D monos. These amps are a bargain and provide amazing transparency and sound-staging while running cool and quiet. I bet they would sound fantastic with a new PSA preamp or transport.

The market has taken a truck load of D333 from me already :slightly_frowning_face: But it will comeback like it always does. This one may take awhile though.

I got a great news that my older one is pregnant. So our vacation plan has changed to visiting NY for a few times this year. This will be my biggest upgrade this year🕺🏻

Curious about your Atmasphere amps. There’s an abbreviated review online, the source of which eludes me that, contends they have fatal flaws and the reviewer cut the review short. Have you read that and what are your thoughts?

Thank you all! Grandpa? I feel old.

@christophervalle Yes, I know about the “non-review” review you mentioned. I don’t know all the details of the conflict between the writer of that review and Ralph Karsten of Atma-Sphere, but it started regarding a totally different issue that occurred long before the aborted review appeared.

Ralph is a great amp/preamp designer and also a really good guy. I don’t have the direct link, but you should be able to search on the Audiogon forum for Ralph’s discussion of the disagreement and the likely reasons for the negative review.

From what I was able to determine, I became quite confident that the “non-review” could be safely ignored. My subsequent experience living with the amp in my own system has been consistent with the many glowing reviews in diverse publications of the A-S Class D monoblocks. It really is a wonderful amp!
