Octave internet radio

I mention iThings as AAC has been an Apple stalwart for years. Many things Apple are however not supported natively by Windows.

I did not see anything that AAC is now standard with Windows 11 and/or late 10, but I assume you are correct.

Windows 11 is roughly a year and a half old. There are thus many Windows machines in use which do not have built in support of AAC.

So does airplay on Octave Radio generate an additional revenue stream for the artists?
Just wondering…

No it does not. Our deal with musicians is simple. When we make money, you make money. Octave Radio is free. Hopefully it results in grteater exposure for Octave Artists and therefore increased sales. Maybe.

We hope!

Best of luck with the new streaming radio station Paul!

I’m not sure what you are Googling but Windows Media Player comes in both Win 10 and Win 11 and supports aac out of the box.

Anyway it is standard on Windows and Android and Apple

I already told you what I Googled. Take a look if you are actually interested. As you recall, I also asked that you please share your obvious, perfect Google search after you berated me for not Googling for the answer.

Yes, as I already acknowledged, the latest version of Windows supports AAC and has done so for a good bit over a year now.

But this leaves many Windiws users without support, making the format a poor choice for streaming if you want all users to have easy access to your music.

It is however a fine choice for Apple OS and iThings.

It is great you like AAC.

This horse is well beaten.

Both latest updates to Win 10 and Win 11 updates support AAC…

When referring to “many Windows users”, are you sympathising with Windows 8 and Vista users? Windows 95? lol

It’s really fun reading your messages to “W” who I blocked long ago. All I see is your half of the dialog.

Fantastic!

One half of the exchange probably makes more sense.

Yes only one half of the convo seems to be shouting at the clouds at a non-existent problem that has been solved for most users on this planet…

So far one of them does.

Thanks! Much appreciated https://octaverecords.out.airtime.pro/octaverecords_a again for anyone interested.

Octave Internet Radio is great. I hope everyone takes a moment to try it.

Congrats Paul, very curious to try it when I’ll be back home from a short vacation.

Any Innuos Sense App user already found if Octave Radio is available? If not, I’ll post on their site a request of implementation as soon as possible.

So - Octave Radio.
I’ve been listening on and off for a few days.

Even with crappy old MP3 it sounds pretty nice.
Little of the music has been particularly ear grabbing, but there has been a lot of nice background music.

What it has done, is give me a much better idea of the music available on octave records, which previously I c bothered with much, partly due to the cost, for what I suspected was not really my thing.
…and I was correct
Still, as said, pretty good background music and good to hear finally in some depth what octave records have been up to.
Oh, and no adverts! (This is essential, I do not do adverts).

I was informed last night that Octave Radio will be available on Airable for those that use that service.

Lumin app does not list it in their radio stations list. To add radio stations, I need to download TuneIn app to ipad. I did that but I was not able to find it during the search yet.

Anyone else uses Lumin app?

Thanks @Paul for bringing the Octave Internet radio into being - Great also that it’s available via Airable! I’ve been enjoying the music this morning.

Is there a schedule of airtimes? Not necessarily programs or hosts (though that would be nice), but just hours of the day when it’s broadcasting and when it’s not?
