Ok to sit on your gear?

So this is meant to be light-hearted. On Paul’s recent video on preamps, he is sitting on a bunch of very pricey PSA gear. Sitting/leaning on it. I can’t imagine doing this, but does anyone else ever sit on their gear like that? I know…huge world problems…

If you are a lightweight like me, it wouldn’t matter. PS Audio gear are built very rugged, but if you are overweight like Paul, I wouldn’t recommend it. It might collapse. I hope his insurance is paid up.

If you are vegetarian you can. Otherwise no.

Vegan, perhaps?

Relative to the average American, at least, Paul is not overweight. (Oh, don’t get me started.)

As long as the top piece is not:

Class A - you’ll burn your butt

Heavily Tubed - see above, and you may cut off needed ventilation

Most of the chassis are pretty sturdy - so knock yourself out. Your cats will figure it out.

:). It’s well built, sturdy, warm, and not a bad sitting device. I do it all the time when I am working on them.

Sounds like prejudice.
What’s an average American and why would being an American matter?

I don’t think that Paul is overweight!

Come on guys, don’t you think he could lose of that pop belly?

You Sir are a trouble maker!

OK I take it all back, Paul is really not that out of shape. I really was just joking. Sorry Paul.

Good to know Sir! It was a bit startling when I saw it, but then I thought about the build and weight of my gear and started thinking…yeah why not? I might worry about it getting scratched from something in my pocket or jeans rivets tho. Makes a cool looking chair!

We tend to be heavier in general than most of our international brethren. I sure was.

That’s what I mean, I’m Half Dutch half German, more heavy than perhaps the average anywhere. One of the vices I need to correct I’m afraid.

Nope. No prejudice at all.

America has an epidemic of obesity. Simple fact. It has a lot to do with the crap that many people eat here.

LOOL I reacted on that also!

Be careful- had to have a KT-88 removed from my backside pulling that stunt-“one in a million, doc!”
