My new P20 is slower when it updates the screen when you, for example, look at the scope sine wave before and after regulation, my old p12 is faster when it draws the graphics and it feels snappier… it’s not a huge difference but a little annoying. I think the flagship should be at least as fast… then another thing, why isn’t the scope in full screen?
This has been my experience as well. Because of the larger screen I remember the code being much more complicated compared to the P12. Which we piggy backed a decent amount from the original P5 and P10. I’m not sure what you mean by the scope not taking up the whole display. My P15’s scope seems to be full screen.
the scope on the P12 almost fills up the entire screen, but on the P20 there are large blue edges like a frame around it, even though the screen is much larger, the scale is not adapted to the larger screen that the P20 has
another question…do you develop the firmware for the power plants for new functions that can improve the sound?
in the years I’ve owned my P12, there haven’t been any news or features, I’m convinced there’s more to tweak and develop I’m very happy as it is today, but of course it would be fun with even better sound
Aw, I see. Yes, it certainly could be using more of the display. It does seem like a lot of unused space. At this time there are no plans to further the code. There may some minor tweaking the software team could do but at this time, I think it’s more important that our R&D team spends it looking at more advanced hardware upgrades for a future line of PowerPlants.
The screen usage and update rate could be an area for improvement. There are always way to optimize code, otherwise it seems like a waste of a nice screen. Also a bit worrisome to imply that the P15 and P20 are already nearing end of life.
At the design phase, I would have a very hard time deciding whether or not to include a display.
While I am all for an app which controls a piece of equipment, I prefer it if the equipment can also be configured without the app.
