P15 Screen Issues

After the latest update 1.19 the screen on my P15 is still freezing up, after been dimmed it does not respond and dosn’t show up on the network.

How widespread is this problem?

Don’t know how widespread the screen issues are, have read Paul mentioned it’s not many, I think was referring to the P20.
Don’t understand if it’s a software thing then why only some have problems.

Since disconnecting the P15 from the network there has been no problem with the screen not been responsive, the power plant has worked flawlessly.

Hi guys, just got a brand new P15, the screen is dead or not responding at all. Any suggestion? Thanks a lot PS Audio team and users.

Sorry to hear. You could try the screen recalibration process. Turn the unit off with the rear switch, hold down the front logo button as you turn it back on. It will then ask you to tap on the 4 corners. Best of luck.

Hi Jamesh,

I switched it off from the rear switch, then I pushed the front logo while turning back on from the rear switch but no calbration process is appearing.

When I switched it on first time a few minutes ago a very weak light and disaligned image appeared shortly on the screen, then all became dark.

What should I do next?

Thanks

Orazio

Just followed litterally what you said.

The front logo is blue again but the screen remains dead, no calibration process is appearing.

What else?

Thanks

Orazio

It appears a call to PS Audio service on Monday is warranted.

Dear Jamesh,

You forgot to mention how many seconds I should press the blu logo while turning the Unit back on.

If I keep pressing it then the Unit turns off and back again all the time. but nothing appears like Screen calibration process.

Thanks

Orazio

I don’t believe there is a set time for how long you need to hold it down for. If you turn the unit on while you’re holding down the button, the calibration screen comes up pretty immediately. If your display isn’t coming on at all, there is likely a bigger issue here.

That is the point.

Although the Unit is working well the Calibration process does not come up at all, result is the screen is dead, not 100% because when I dim the blu logo I see that the back light of the screen is responding even slightly, I mean not 100% dead and gone.

I recall the previous P15 on trial basis last month requested me that Calibration process as you said, but that was just fine after that.

I wonder what I should do next, and why this Unit needs a Calibration process after all.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Orazio

After several attempts - Recalibration process - it is very disappointing to see the above result… What is happening to PS Audio? How can you deliver this level of quality? You are supposed to be kind of Ferrari in the Hifi equipment, allow me that comparison. A brand new Unit just unpacked and connected. Thanks for any suggestion you may give on the subject. For sure either this is a temporary failure or this Unit will be soon returned. Rgds. Orazio

Someone needs his chill-pill!

Take a deep breath.

There may well be something wrong with the unit. It happens. No company can produce perfect units at a 100% rate.

Call PS Audio service on Monday and they will take care of you.

Tomorrow I will try again to get what I have paid for; if the result is still the same after taking a deep breath I will put it back safely into the box and return it asap, because never ever I will run a faulty product; will you? Rgds

Mr Palouse, easy for you to say "someone needs a chill pill, the faulty brand new Unit is not yours, right?? Most probably yours is running well which is what I was expecting myself… right again?

So sorry for this screen problem. Please do contact us on Monday and we’ll make it right. It’s no fun whatsoever to have a brand new product and this kind of problem. Ugh. I feel for you.

Thanks for posting the picture. That’s certainly not what should be happening and no calibration should be needed. Your distributor should offer multiple options for return.
