I had my Mk 1 modded by JK Richards also and I am very happy with the dac. It matches well with my PST and Aries G2.1.

Think there’s a difference between complaining about something one doesn’t own, and just having some empathy and understanding of where others might be coming from.

oddball here

never thought anything I purchase would not be eventually discontinued and replaced (if the company did not go under). for electronics and speakers especially. and, presume that my toys have no resale value other than giving them away

I am an empath, but an empath that can see things from multiple sides. I can see where the original complaint comes from. I can also see that the Mount Blue Sky update was THE update that made owners of the MK2 happy, and that further uodates are simply not needed. I can also see the complaints that this thread should be closed and locked. I also can see that expecting future updates to the MK2 to continue year after year is unrealistic. I can also see that updates to the new PMG DAC are not planned, and considered to be not needed, that they got it right the first time.

I see no reason to close this thread, but I’ve always been a free speech advocate, and apparently, so is Paul. I commend him for leaving it open and allowing all of us to have our say. It shows a lot of class on his part.

I don’t have experience with both but I have heard from people that the Aries G2.1 is better than the Airlens.

Speaking of Mr Rodgers vs Paul McGowan… although both are nice guys, there is another aspect of Paul that in my opinion differs from Fred.
Paul is a fighter, has got the some stones and as a long time business man in a dog eat dog business, does what he needs to do to survive.
So, although being a nice guy is a good thing, sometimes you gottsta pull out the other aspect of the personality when needed.
Just my opinion
