If you get to hear a LTA please let me know. Good folks to work with.
Roninaudioā¦I live near Linear Tube Audio so it is easy to hear and purchase their products. I enjoy their ZOTL technology products and knowledgeable staff. Below is an article on ZOTL technology.
Of course they have a 30-day trial period. Since none of their products have transformers, the shipping cost to return a product is reasonable. As well, they provide an upgrade program for their products.
Their products donāt even have power transformers?
ZOTL technology eliminates the sound you hear from transformers, hence there is zero negative feedback required. Below is an in-depth Steve Guttenburg review of the Linear Tube Audio Z40i+ integrated amp. Yes, this a digitally-controlled, integrated tube amplifier that stays on 24x7.
Interesting integrate. Are the tubes used in the amplifier or preamplifier section of the integrate?
Iād probably be interested in this integrate if it had a little more juice.
If any FR5 owners have the old VPI dB-5 āBrickā, do put the āBrickā on top of the speakers - makes a big difference in the sound (YMMV). I have wall-to-wall carpet in my music room and the FR5ās weight does allow the stand spikes to dig through the carpet.
Tubes are used in both the preamp and amp portions of the Linear Tube Audio Z40i+. If interested, you may want to call Linear Tube Audio @ 301-448-1534. They can tell you if the integrated is compatible with your speakers. The wattage rating for tube and solid-state amplifiers are very different.
Correcting error in above quote. āThe weight of FR5s doesnāt allow the spikes to āgroundā into the sub-flooring.ā
Happy cake day, Gary! Your one year anniversary!
Happy Cake Day!
Another question on the PGM DAC. The internal streamer. Any hints on design, how it works, how would it compare to a separate high end streamer attached via I2S or USB?
A great question! How about posting this in a new thread??
Iām interested in this also. For a long time weāve been told that streamers are apt to be noisy and putting them in a DAC isnāt a good idea. In another post somewhere here recently, Paul said that they had learned from their experience with the Bridge when designing the new DAC with its streamer. That makes sense, but I would like more details about how the downsides of having a streamer enclosed were mitigated.
Was just wondering how the new internal streamer would compare to the AirLensā¦

If you want all your computing to be on Googleās servers and have them know everything you do.
They know already. You can runā¦
Thatās great to hear! You might also consider experimenting with different cables or power supplies to further optimize the synergy with your PST and Aries G2.1.
Well, looking at how Chromebooks workā¦
Microsoft is bereft of any meaningful securityā¦
Apple states they are virus, malware resistantā¦really ? hmmm
All computer despite what they say, they get your info directly or
indirectly.
So here goes:
Chromebooks are designed with multiple layers of built-in security to protect against common threats. These include verified boot, sandboxing, automatic updates, data encryption, and a fast recovery mechanism. While they are generally secure, Chromebook users can still be vulnerable to malicious activities like bad browser extensions or phishing attempts.
Built-in Security Features:
- Verified Boot:
Every time a Chromebook reboots, it checks for any tampering or corruption of the operating system and automatically repairs it if necessary.
- Sandboxing:
Each website and app runs as its own separate program, preventing malware from infecting the rest of the device.
- Automatic Updates:
The operating system and browser are automatically updated to ensure the latest security patches are installed.
- Data Encryption:
Any web data not stored in the cloud is automatically encrypted on the local storage.
- Google Secure Microcontroller (H1):
This hardware-backed defense protects access to user data and encryption keys, preventing brute-force attacks and ensuring only trusted devices can access data.
- Recovery:
Chromebooks have a fast and easy recovery option to reinstall the latest version of the operating system.
No computer os is 100% secure some less so than others.
Having read all thatā¦I do employ both a vpn and an av software.
No offense intended
Best wishes
Yep, not a good idea. Google is not your friend.
