Add in some gan fets and a purify module designed by Putzey and I’m sold!
I have the NAD c298.

Have you looked at Coda?
I don’t see many reviews for Coda. I like the look of the Continuum No. 8 V1. But without decent reviews and not a lot of brand recognition, I am concerned about resale.
Thanks for pointing them out.
Maybe take a peek at the Esoteric S 03? Or one of their AB integrated amps if you were thinking of going that route?
Either should up the refinement level a bit…
Best,

My XA160.8’s run about 50f above room temp in free air FYI.
I absolutely love my Coda #8 V1.Best amp I have owned…period! At its price point it is an absolute steal…at used pricing…its a gift! Call Doug Dale at Coda,he can address any concerns you may have.
A buddy of mine has the CSIB driving Monitor PL 300, I always enjoy listening to his system when I visit. Punchy and powerful are the words that come to mind
These guys know how to build amps, no question
I was looking at one last night. It’s interesting to me for something so heavy there aren’t any handles on the back. It must be fun to move around. It looks fantastic.
That’s quite a bit of heat. I don’t think I can cool the inside of my cabinet that much without it sounding like a wind tunnel in the living room.
Thanks for the info.
The Coda founders were part of the R&D team at Threshold with Nelson. They do a lot of OEM amplifier work for other companies on top of their brand.
Lots of good options being discussed here. I’m a Luxman fan myself, hoping to get the L595ASE at some point soon, but Pass, Gryphon, ARC, Coda all for sure have their fan bases. If ARC made an integrated with balanced inputs I’m pretty sure that would win my heart, but they don’t other than maybe the new baby i50 (not sure on that one). If the GSi were balanced, I think I’d get it, as big ARC fan - but the Ref 80/6se separates combo a little higher than I want to go right now, and also strongly biased towards integrated amp at this stage. Separates will come, but not until following iteration.
The Classé Delta amp is probably your best bet for inside a cabinet.
Still love my M1200’s, and am keeping them.
Have absolutely no desire whatsoever to sell them and move on to something else.
When I want a more of a solid-state sound, I connect the Parasound P6 preamp to them.
When I want that lush musical sound, I connect the Conrad Johnson tube preamp to them.
When I want something in between, I connect the BHK Preamp to them.
The M1200’s match very nicely with all 3 preamps.
They are great amps! I believe they are the inspiration the BHK 600’s.
@paul172 - Looking at a McIntosh MC462.
Yup, definitely a consideration if you plan on moving it about, especially as we age🙂
F07 INT weighs in around 60lbs with balanced preamp, phono stage and stunning build quality
Can’t make a bad choice with any of the options mentioned…maybe add the Michi to the list as well
Darren was involved with Bascom’s work on the 600’s.
I don’t know to what extent. It would be interesting if there was any direct collaboration on design and implementation, or even a sharing of ideas. All I’ve seen is some short video snippets with Darren briefly talking about parts of Bascom’s circuit topologies.
And if Darren will in future design an upgraded version of the M1200s (in a PerfectWave chassis) after he worked so close to Bascom for the BHK 600s sharing thoughts, experiences, ideas, projects, inspirations?
It would be great and I could wait for years an amp of this kind! Let me dream…
That’s a lot of preamps!
