Turns out that according to the flight formation pattern this
C-47 was the very 1st and lead C47 to Normandy on D-Day!!

Good question…Memphis Belle flew an unprecedented 25 missions WWII
over Germany…perhaps Nazi fighter planes shot down…
My only guess…never thought to ask…

Thanks for these pictures. My father-in-law was a flight engineer on a B-24J Liberator in the Pacific during the war. He made it all the way to Tokyo. I hadn’t thought of him lately.

Ooooh Elk…Pierre Sprey former F-16 pilot dissed the F 35 to congress
pointed out how a 4th gen F-16 wiped the sky with the F35…he failed to
mention that the F 35 was block 1 a new born baby and obc limited the
the g forces …
Yet come a year or so later 2017 Red Flag excercise the F 35s went up against
the best 4th gen F-16s, F15s with AWACS you name it and came out with a 20:1 kill ratio…
It is an amazing thing the F-16 has to go into after burner just to keep up with the
F 35 while the F 35 is not even super cruising…
The F 35’s avionics outclass the latest greatest Super Hornet’s
avionics
F 35 may be stubby looking…but it is no slouch…
Sorry just could not let that get by…
