What happened to Leica?
When reading their activity, it’s dominated by constantly releasing mostly insanely priced and limited special editions, often kitschy, gold plated or similar. It seems they got a pure luxury bling and collectors product. Strange.
Here’s an extreme example:
Just a guess but a clue could be the word “Thai” in the product’s name. Appealing to the Asian market?
A lot they do nowadays seems to be targeted to the Asian and Middle East market, that’s what I mean.

Janet Echelman’s Bending Arc public art installation at the St. Pete Pier in St. Petersburg, Florida last night. A really trippy and psychedelic sculpture. This shows only a portion of the installation. It covers an area four hundred feet long by nearly as wide.
