The PS DS stream is capable of playing these very high res files (384 and DSD 5.6) that are being introduced in HDtracks and acoustic sounds. How does one go about playing these high res from the transport. I understand the transport can play on 192?
The DS will play PCM files up to 352.4 but I believe not 384. It does do double rate DSD (5.6mHz). I don’t have a PWT but I believe it only goes to 192/24 and single rate DSD. It’s an older device and 192/24 was all that was really needed when it came out. For higher resolutions you would need to use another source, such as a computer or dedicated device like an Auralic Aries.
