PMG 512 is Roon Ready!

After getting Roon Ready working yesterday, I put a playlist on repeat. Things were fine until sometime today when Roon prompted me to Select an audio zone. The problem was that both entries for the PMG DAC had disappeared (Roon Ready and Airplay). I had not touched the DAC. From the DAC screen I verified that the Streamer was still on and had internet connection. From the DAC menu I turned off the Streamer and turned it back on. I restarted Roon and now it shows only the Airplay option. Nothing for Roon Ready. :frowning:

Love that album, oddly enough.

I just went through this with an update on my MU2. In Roon, you have to click on settings, then Audio, and look for the new PMG endpoint. You need to enable it and name it. Do you already know about this? Have you done this and the PMG 512 doesn’t appear?

This, or reboot either your switch or your router whatever comes first (or both) and then do as adviced. Worked for me!

I did all of that yesterday. Today, the Roon Ready entry for the PMG DAC is no longer there. I am tired of maneuvering behind my audio rack to try another power off/on cycle. I am just going to let it be for a while and see if anyone else reports this problem.

So far since last night DAC has stuck in roon.

I‘ve updated to the last software and also the new streamer firmware, after that I don‘t see the PMG DAC in Roon anymore. If made a power cycle 3x and also a factory reset, router reset, roon core reset, reinstalled the Roon app (with Qobuz) nothing helped, I did not see the DAC into the Roon app.

I‘m really desperate, because I cannot stream music anymore, after the updates. Any suggestions, or help?

Ditto except It appears as an airplay option (BOO) and I still have my airlines. Did the upgrades and resets (perhaps not so many) in hopes of getting rid of the hiccups which still plagued my 512 DAC streamer. Also rebooted everything upstream including the modem and ROON software running on a Mac mini. What remains strange to me is that PS Audio got it right the first time with the airlens save modern wifi interface. Never had any trouble with either of my two units. Off/on, reconnect always has worked seamlessly. Qobuz connect works but has hiccups.

@Werner041169 and @JKWAustin I think IIRC I ended up recycling the streamer. as in turn it off and turn it on via the menus. Give that a try. Also I assume your roon is 100% up to date.

This happened to me one or two updates ago, and it’s why I’m not updating again (at least for now) since I got everything working again. You should reach out to PS Audio’s team–they pretty quickly helped me in a similar spot by remotely applying some kind of software fix to my unit.

No go, and same behavior with both WiFi and hardwired. ROON software reports I have latest (2.57 1598). PMG airplay option comes and goes with streamer on/off, so ROON is seeing it, just not treating it as a valid end point. Just as an aside, I have several other devices besides the airlens (Sonos) that play without hiccups via airplay from ROON.

Audirvanna scammed me so i bought the lifetime Roon license.

Have you guys checked under Roon settings/audio to see if your dac needs to be enabled (again)?

they are saying they are seeing airplay one so I assumed thats where they are, in the Audio setup menu.

Yes, I go to the audio menu to enable the DAC and it only appears as a non ROON device using Airplay. Just my (sort of) layman’s opinion but given that others are having ROON see their 512 DAC as ROON ready, I would presume that it our DAC’s (those of us with issues) that are not presenting the correct “picture” to ROON.

If up to date it should show up as roon ready with new icon. No idea why it’s not.

Just a hunch that a factory reset might help - unless you’ve already done that.

Been there, done that. But it seems that all a factory reset with the DAC does is reset stuff like input names to default values. Not quite like resetting HAL.

I’d love to reset HAL and all of HAL’s progeny!

Fingers crossed you get a resolution to this saga.

Forgot to mention, that you might have to reboot at least the first device upstream on the network path to get the streamer connected to the network again. Then, enable it in the settings menu.
Hope this helps. It did for me.
