PMG SACD Transport and USB play, whats wrong here

Hi,I am using front USB port to play songs(128KDSD) and then switching to CD/SACD play freeze CD play mechanism. even after removing USB source. I have to power it off to reset it. Problem continues with replaced SACD player. perhaps a firmware upgrade is required. otherwise, I am happy with solid performance of this player.

I am experiencing the same problem. After playing SACD, I inserted a 8GB USB drive to the front of PMG Transport to tryout, it played music fine. But when I switched back to discs, it does not play. The transport kept reading and never stopped. I needed to turn off the unit from behind to reset.

PST did not have this problem. Has anyone else tried it and was successful switching from USB to disc?

The USB acts as an input override, so the unit will continue to look for the USB input until rebooted. In future they may have a FW update to revert the override. Right now it is a ā€œfeatureā€.

So, it appears that every PMG SACD T. will encounter this issue when switching from USB to discs. I requested a FW update on this so no reboot is needed in future.

i play HDTT128DSD files and it becomes very annoying.
I figured if I open cd drawer before taking out usb drive then I donot have to reboot
This is after latest firmware update

@Paul, can a priority be put on this fix? Iā€™m not too happy about the idea of cycling power every time I want to go from USB to the disc drive.

Thanks Paul too! I hastate to use USB stick just to avoid resetting every time. Please also consider the display comments on the other PMG threads regarding letter/number sizing and circular ring display. Thanks.

@Paul, a recommendation on this logic -

PMG SACD defaults to the drive mechanism as long as or as soon as there is a disc detected in the drive. If a USB is inserted while there is a disc in the drive, it does not switch to USB - removing the disc from the drive becomes the trigger for a new USB search. Additionally if the disc is removed and a USB stick is found as having remained in the USB socket, then the PMG switches to USB. That should cover all use cases.

Sure, I think the USB to discs problem is well known by now, Hopefully there will be a FW to fix it soon.

I am in agreement, Firm ware support is reallly needed.
I am happy Paul delivered on remote fix to open and close s drive in Sacd player.
