Power Cord

Anybody try different ones, hear any benefits. I have a older lessloss on DS JR and that does help. I have tried a lower cost Shunyata but not sure I hear much of a change.

I have the PS 12 with my dmp, but this what I had with PWT, so I can not compare but what I can say is the dmp has a clean clear soundstage

deeper ,wider is the 12 adding to this I think so it gives the dmp the clean power it needs

Yes I have the 12 on my P5, but there is a lot of newer guys that make a lot of choices. I do have Wireworld on my amps and the HDMI between the DMP and JR, maybe I will go that way. Some manufactures state that their cords are designed for digital like Triode Wire Labs.

After a few weeks of owning my DSD and DMP, and playing around with PS5 power cords, I can say that the DSD definitely sounds better vs the std cord, my triode, class A tube amp absolutely yes, pre-amp absolutely yes, power conditioner absolutely yes, DMP not at all. But they all have one including the DMP.

Oh–and since Redcloud, I’ve stopped using my tube preamp and I’m very happy with the DSD’s preamp. So that power cord went onto my AER guitar amp and that made a huge improvement, especially with an archtop with a floating pickup. Just sayin…

This isn’t something I think too much about. I just put an AC-12 on it and I’m done. Unless space is a bit tight in which case I put an AC-5 on it. If I could plug my remote control into an AC-12 I’d do that as well.

As an update I recently went from a AC 5 to a Furutech FP-S032N 12 AWG Power Cable with the lower cost Furutech connectors and it was noticeable up grade in sound. You can get the power cable custom made at VH Audio

Since RedCloud I’m still using my ZTPRE preamp though I compared the sound without it. . . the preamp is an improvement for me. I totally agree about using excellent power cords with instrument amps that have an IEC outlet–my Fender Jazzmaster Ultra-Light SE and my Fender TV Bassman 15 both sound much better when I put a PS Audio cord in the connection. Improved in all aspects.
