Power Plant 15 and A Puritan 156 conditioner

I am using both PZ and Puritan in my system now. However, since the power cords are different too (they matter as much as the devices), I cannot say which combination is the best. Since my best power cord is with PZ, I only use Puritan for an Orbi satellite and a iPad charger. I can say for sure there is no difference in iPad performance.

PP15/PP20 and Puritan were all removed. Just the PowerZone and the new Allocator are making me happy now.
I agree with Al, the Dream 2020 power cord makes a huge difference, too.

Thanks for the feedback guys…

Yeah, I recall the discussion on the PZ3 thread about upgrading to the best Power Cable one can acquire… and the Stealth 2020 being most favorable. $7-8K is quite steep… and being an owner of a PZ3.20… that means X2… basically the cost of another PZ3. :grimacing:

I’m trying a loom of Viablue’s flagship cables for my system. I’ve heard quite a bit of positive feedback on them esp with regard to their cost/performance ratio. They seem to punch way above their weight. Furthermore, I know someone who has been to their office and factory in Germany :germany: and was very impressed with what he saw. Even their screws are custom made inhouse. These will eventually replace my Transparent and Puritan Ultimate cable combo in the system. I’m doing it slowly with 2 of the Viablue X-60 T6S currently on the PZ3 2.0.

Like many of you, I have recently experienced uplifting sound… but also at least one episode of a lack of engagement. So far, I’m creeping towards 20 hours… but know there still is quite a bit of change (and expected improvement) to come.

My concern aside from any potential improvements with the Puritan being ahead or after the PZ3 in the chain also has to do with the protection it offers with any potential or unexpected power surges for some of the other components other than the amps… something we all know the passive PZ3 does not do. Peace of Mind is a big plus in my book… so was just curious if anyone did any experimentation between these purifiers, regenerators and optimizers…

Again, many thanks for the feedback and comments guys! It is appreciated. :+1:

I would not involve the Puritan with the PZ. I know of no one else trying that. That does not mean others haven’t. I just have not heard of it. I own a Puritan. I use it in my Home Theater setup. It never did anything good in my Main system setup. I always found it to dull the sound.

Wait, you have not put Stealth 2020 on Puritan yet?

What
Ever
I am NOT a Puritan fan. Not even a little.

And spending money on a $7500 list power cable to improve the sound of a $2500 power conditioner seems wrong.

Hmm, do not get angry with me from my latest improvement:

AQ Dragon HC powering LHY SW-10 switch ($5.5k to $1.4k)
AQ Dragon Source powering LHY SW-6 switch ($4.5k to $500 bucks)

The SQ improvement was quite amazing, especially on SW-10? Why?

Not that long ago, Dragons were my best PCs. ZenWave came that sounded better, and now a half-priced Snake River Takshaka sounded better than Dragon HC too. Very strange.

I have 2 Puritan PSM 156 here in a draw collecting dust.

I tried to use the Puritan together with the PZ3 and I preferred without it.

I also tried to keep the Puritan plugged into a wall socket (same circuit of the HiFi system) but I preferred the Schnerzinger Grid Protector doing the cleaning job.

Too bad you’re puritans are in a drawer on the other side of the world from me.

appreciate this answer
I sold my P15 and went with the Puritan.
I’ve been happy with my decision
