Power Plants - help for a new user

I have just bought two P15s and am very pleased with the improvement to my system. I tend to leave my equipment in standby mode and would not therefore intend to turn my P15s off at any point. Does anyone feel that is not a good idea. Also, does anyone use the bog standard mains cable that is packed with the units or have people upgraded. I am using Burmester mains cables for the present rather than the standard issue.

Welcome, @David_Ingham !

The Power Plants are designed to be left on at all times.

Many find better cables feeding a Power Plant make a significant difference.

Welcome @David_Ingham. @Elk is correct. It was the craziest thing to wrap my brain around why using a upgraded cable would make a difference but yes in my opinion and many others it is the most important power cable upgrade in the system.

Congrats on 2 P15’s, and welcome!
I leave my P12 on 24/7 except when strong storms are expected. Then I will turn off the front switch, back switch and unplug the P12.

There is at least a half dozen tweaks you can do to power plants. Power Cords, audiophile fuses, vibration isolation, RF absorption on Video card ICs, RF absorber on lid for transformers, RF absorber tuning Rings on power cords. I have a topic in power components. Have fun and enjoy. Every tweak will transform the power plants to provide power even better sounding.

Glad to hear you’re liking the new P15. I have left mine on for a few years now (only turn it off when I’m out of town for a long time). No issue at all and it’s designed to stay on all of the time.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. These are most helpful. I will go and hunt out the topic from Vmax and look forward to some happy tweaking!!

When I turned off my P15 occasionally when we were on vacation, it took two days before the system sounded normal again.

Also, power plants and generators are the places you want to put your BEST power cord. PSA power plants really shine with a top-level cord!
