Been a while since I’ve had to write here. Life had been good until recently.
Over the weekend I realized that I had not replaced the tubes for my bhk 300 amps so I did that. Took me a couple days for the tubes to get here, but as soon as they came I did a brief trial in the afternoon to see if they were working and the worked fine.
Fast forward a few hours and when I got back home from work I tried to have a session to test the system out again and the dsj just wouldn’t get an ip address. Looked behind the player and saw that there was no blinking light in the Ethernet port. Tried a new cable, a working cable from a different device, and a different port in the switch… all to no avail.
I normally use the bridge, and play music through my room nuc. But after multiple resets and power cycles, I thought I’d try the usb. But even that wasn’t working. No music through the system.
Lots of weird hdmi 0/1/2/3 showing up (alsa) and some weird volume limitation issues going on
FYI, I’ve not been able to upgrade my firmware for a while so I think I’m still on the fw before snowmass (always had trouble updating to the point that I gave up)
You think there is a hardware failure or you think I can factory reset something and get it to work?

Sorry to hear of the troubles. I had a DSJ a few years ago and loved it. I would recommend a factory reset before anticipating a possible hardware error. Let us know how it goes.
If there’s a hardware failure you may be out of luck. Parts may be unavailable.
Oh.
How is the factory reset done? Online it said something about an sd card but mine has only the usb for a thumb drive.
I suggest contacting PS Audio service department to get guidance. the manual didn’t reference a reset.
Ok so today it started to work again. Not sure what happened. And for a bit, the dsj came off of room, so I checked the back panel, and the network light was acting wonky…. But been working for the past few hours so I’m letting it go for now.
A couple more queries:
How can I troubleshoot my usb 2.0 out of the nuc? Attaching an image of the nuc seeing my dsj. But for the life of me, after enabling it and selecting usb on the dsj, I any get any sound to play. Roon shows the music playing, there is a bitrate that shows up on the panel on the dsj.
I’m assuming the usb is more capable to play higher bitrates?

Ok. USB also just started to work.
Have no idea what has happened.
Oh well.
Last question: for the life of me I have not been able to update the firmware. Have tried multiple usb sticks. Can anyone point me to a guide that may be able to show me how to downgrade etc before upgrading?
