PS Audio AirLens

Hmm. On the rear of the Airlens the USB jack must be the input for Firmware updates. And the button labeled WPS; would that be the way to invoke WiFi?

WPS generally means Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

One of the updates way back mentions it is Ethernet and Wi-Fi capable.

Thanks. You’re right. I just looked it up. I see a button on my modem with two little arrows so maybe I’m good to go.

Yes, the USB jack is for updates to the firmware and the WPS is for WiFi connection.

If you’re not using WPS today then there is no reason to start. It’s not very secure and they’ve not updated it since it originally came out is my understanding. There have been a few CISA and other agency alerts. It’s fine for the “client”, AirLens, to support it but you don’t want to enable it on your router just for the AirLens. This would be a “nice to have” for those already using WPS.

Thanks guys! In fact my cake day was a few days before, so I must have made a mistake at the beginning in my profile…I just can’t find the option to change anymore

Happy fake day, then!

I’d certainly be up for that if it might be combined with a package trade in price for the AirLens and DS2 in replacement for the DS1 with Bridge.

On another forum, I was asking why Aurender didn’t use I2s as an output. Aurender’s preferred output is AES/coax. It was stated that there isn’t an agreed upon protocol on the I2s data/clock lines. This differs from the various pinouts. Is this true?

Yes.

So, my Holo DAC DTE can be set to PSAudio I2s pinout, but might not function with the Airlens?

I wonder if people will modify the AL.

AL comes with SMPS and someone will modify it with LPS. The question is how soon.
