It certainly is maddening to me as a potential customer who has been assuming it will be part of my system’s expansion. ![]()
It is a demanding crowd.
I think you can handle the challenge, Vince.
Adopt and adapt (you will be assimilated!)
If I am going, I am going with 7 of 9.

Not sure about others, @Paul, but my bridge went back to PSA as part of the trade-in for the MK2. There’s something about the notion of purchasing a new device with that outdated card that turns me off, especially since it was just returned to you guys. I also can’t ignore the sound quality issues that the device caused when installed in the MK1.
Thanks, but no thanks, I’ll find some other way to stream content to the MK2.
Huge range of options depending on your budget.
I think if PSA pushes this Bridge box option, then the Airlens, although already on a hidden web page, is still far away…after more than 3000 posts and over 2 years thread activity…can’t believe so many (I’m among them) are so patient. But I guess PSA will borrow you a Bridge card ![]()
That’s another part of getting a streamer with the bridge II card in it that bothers me.
I purchased it yesterday, shipping coast to coast so this should be interesting. G1.1 ticks all the boxes for me. Wanted a really good streamer with internal storage so I can now experience DSD and WI-FI is a must for me. ![]()
Go Bengals!
I’m cheering for the Bengals and so they are doomed.
Please stay on topic.
This thread is about the commercial aviation industry.
Ooo, that Auralic Aries G1.1 is a nice piece of kit. Not sure if the extra slab of metal added underneath in the upgrade fits my design aesthetic. I guess it would shield a glass top-topped PSA DS MK2 DAC racked underneath it though. A dealer near me has a G1 that someone traded in for a G2.1 available. Is tempting.
Re DSD, particularly for folks running NAS setups, the Plex DLNA server is working fine for me. Using BubbleUPnP and a Pi4 4GB on RoPieeeXL, I achieved whole album playback of Stereo DSD256 to my MK2 over USB. And going direct to an exaSound streaming DAC… so no Pi4 in between… Stereo DSD512 (NativeDSD Sampler) and Surround DSD64 (Cowboy Junkies - Whites Off Earth Now) sound great and played in full with no gaps or pops!
Note: the files themselves won’t play in the Plex app itself though. But even the album art comes across onto the webpage of the exaSound DAC using DLNA.
PS: Correction: Playback of DSD files on Plex and Plexamp apps on an iPhone and a Samsung Android Tablet is working. It was playback on the Android-based 2017 Nvidia Shield that did not work last night. I assume though that payback into the apps is transcoded by the Plex Media Server on the NAS. But full DSD is getting through to the DACs using Plex DLNA. Or so the DACs tell me.
Who knows, they may come up with a new one that uses the CDM4140 Bridge module which features:
• Up to 32bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256(11.2MHz).
• I2S audio out & DSD audio out.
• I2S master and slave mode.
• DSD output supports: Native DSD, DoP, and PCM conversion.
• Supports 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet.
• Has the option of USB interface for WiFi.
→ USB WiFi module and USB WiFi Dongle can be connected.
→ Station and SoftAP mode
• UART for communication with host processor.
Yes, that one looks the biz. I like it that it will unfold MQA to 384kHz too.
That would be good if they do use something newer.
As of now, im considering alternative options. They still need to build it test it, build a pipeline for it, and as we’ve seen, many times that takes longer than expected.
They’ve already said the kluge box will be for existing old bridge 2 cards. Did the card manufacturer design the new version to be a drop-in replacement of the old card?
I say kluge box because seems such an odd choice to resuscitate what was widely regarded as the weakest link in the prior dac version.
The module still requires some work by PSA , but it would be a good step.
PS Audio fanboy that I am, I will wait this out. No streaming setup I have tried has ever come close to my PWT-DAC combo, but I think Paul and the boys have a real shot at doing it with this Air lens.
If the USB input on the MKII is as good as some are saying, why not just connect Roon Nucleus to it via USB? I am still using DSJ and expect to upgrade at some point.
