Hi everyone,
I have noticed that my PS Audio device’s display intermittently goes completely black screen during operation, though the device itself continues to function normally.
I have checked all cables and updated the firmware, but the issue persists. Has anyone encountered this problem or can suggest troubleshooting steps to resolve it? Any advice or insights would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I haven’t experienced the issue you are describing; however, if I did I would be quick to reach out to PS Audio tech support (in addition to soliciting help on this forum). The PS Audio guys are very competent and cordial. They’ve seen pretty much everything at one time or another and may have a few suggestions for you to quickly get to the root of the issue.
It would help if you tell us exactly what piece of gear you have; PSA makes so many.
All the items that I have from PSA allow the display to be dimmed through the remote control. I’ve never encountered this turning on by itself (so to speak), but perhaps somehow it’s happening in your case. If you use the remote to change a setting, such as the volume, does the display come back on? That’s what happens for me if I dim the display – it stays dark until I use the remote again.
My Gain Call DAC at low volume will automatically turn off the display. Sometimes if the song hits a loud spot it will turn the display back on for a short time. This feature can be changed.
I am having the exact same problem. I have a new Stellar Gold DAC and the display goes blank and cannot be recovered unless I fully power it off from the rear power switch. The DAC continues to work - but the power button and the display are fully dark. I am at the most current firmware as well. Also - the remote does nothing when this happens and it is not predicatble as to when it happens.
