Is the PST SACD transport considered ordinary or good or excellent? I’ve heard it described a few different ways. I am enjoying mine but is there much improvement to be had with for example the Jay’s player? Is there much improvement with the new PMG transport?

Jay’s CDT3 Mk3 is the way to go if you do not play SACDs. SImilar sound but a good $4k less. I have both the Jay’s CDT2 Mk3 and the CDT3 Mk3. The only downside is accommodating a top loader.

OTOH if you do play SACDs, IMO the PST (and by extension the PMG SACD) is the best thing out there short of getting an Esoteric. Beats the pants off any old Oppo, which is not saying much, but still.

The PST is excellent. There must be better out there, if you have the time, money, patience, love of CDs to find out first hand.
