PST or Jays CDT3 Mk3?

Keep me posted. I changed out all of the footers to AUVA 1’s so I was unable to verify the gain from individual components. Josh recommended the 1’s for the Jays but it is at the margin, and I trust your findings.

Isn’t it just changing the elastomer insert? It just screws in or out.

Likely, but I don’t have spare EQ 2 inserts. I’m sure I can find another use for the EQ 1’s should he recommend EQ 2’s. At 56 pounds with three feet I may be pushing it with EQ 1’s. No urgency as the Jay’s is beginning to come into its own. Best upgrade I made last week.

It took about 3-4 days for it to really shine. :man_shrugging:t2:

The net weight is 48.5 lbs…

Thanks!
Still the EQ 1 is at the margins with 3 footers in place.

It looks like your 21.5 lbs short using 3 footers with the ones in place.

I use 4 pods on everything. I think 3 on the Jay’s might be over the maximum recommended.

Josh can send the correct inserts rather buying or trading the entire gizmo.

My first purchase in 2025 will be a CDT2MK3. I just want a good reliable cd transport.
I don’t care enough about my digital side sq to spend twice the moolah for the cdt3mk3.

I wish you would try the Teac. It just may out perform the CDT2MK3.

I thought you put no truck in the ramblings of a reviewer. It does look like a winner, though.
The Japanese make killer cd transports, and are the only source now that Phillips is out of the game.

I am a huge Fan of Jay’s Audio (the Chinese Audio Manufacturer). I owned the CDT2MK3 and appreciated its solid build quality and enjoyed my time with it. But my Gryphon Ethos taught me first hand to reach higher. I have a hunch that the Teac reaches higher than the CDT2MK3. It is close to the same price, and half the price of the CDT3 transport you have. I love love love the CDT3 Transport! Oh my! But I have a hunch the Teac performs at a higher level. A hunch.

As I own the Ethos already I am willing to spend ZERO to test this theory.

My hunch is the CDT3 is every bit as good as the transport used in the Ethos…Just a theory…

My hope.

Your system is up to the CDT3 Mk3, and I wonder If you’ll second guess your decision down the road. I am happy having one of each.
Consider a Qstab as well.

Hope is nice.
Reality though, yikes!

The big issue is the TEAC lists for like $2695. Bargainville.

Steve Guttenberg compared the similarly priced Teac to the CDT2 MK3 as equally good but gave the Jay’s a slight advantage when using I2S.

You nailed it. I probably will go for the 3/3 because I know myself. I will definitely second guess it, lose money selling the 2, buying the 3… I’m so weak.
