RCA Jack defect on Directstream MK 1

Hello everyone. I have trouble with the RCA output jacks of my DirecStream DAC MKI. The outer barrel has come away from the RCA jack on both channels. I am the second owner. I can use the XLR outputs of course but I would like to fix this issue. Is this a common issue if I were to ask service if they have replacement jacks? Perhaps they have newer, updated RCA jacks?

Many thanks!

Bill

Happened to me, I think I’ve heard others had it happen to them. I just popped it back.

I have done that several times but it eventually finds itself coming off due to movement of cables. If I don’t move anything it will be okay.

I will check with service and see if I can buy new jacks that can hold up.

Same problem here and now just use the XLR outputs. Known issue with the RCA jacks on the DSD MK I DAC. I also wonder if improved RCA jacks are available from PSA. Maybe their Tech Services can assist.

I believe Paul said to put a drop of super glue on the barrel ( glue along the rim)… slide it over the jack… and your good to go!

Super Glue being my preferred conductor, .

I always preferred André Previn myself!

John Cage here…

I think you mean “Mr. Andrew Preview”!

This is a famous scene involving Previn:
