Removing top on P10 and adjusting the display

I recently purchased a used Powerplant P10. I need to do 2 things.

First, the display needs to be adjusted slightly. It is physically sitting a bit of an angle. I guessing it got a bit of a jar in transit and just needs to be reset in place. I assuming that I need to remove the front face plate to do this. What is the process for removing the face plate?

Second, I want to repolish the top plate. I’d prefer to take it off the unit when I do it. What screws to I need to remove? Is there anything I need to be careful about, i.e. any nuts that may fall off, or anything attached to the cover? I do have a suction cup style tile lifter.

Thanks.

IIRC you need to remove the top. Each front and rear side corner has three Allen key heads (you need to undo the top ones only, I think they’re imperial rather than metric). The top can then be removed, e.g. by suction. Some chassis have some bits of metal along the edges, be careful nothing falls inside. The top lid clear coat can be polished with car type compound (carefully of course, very fine). Note that there’s also a means of setting up the screen by touching the four corners - I can’t remember the details but it’s done as the unit powers up during initialisation. Sorry I’m, not being specific, it’s several years since I’ve needed to remove a lid. At least you have an idea as to how things are done.

Thanks. I’ll work on it tonight.

Top is off and started getting the swirls and scratches out. A couple are too deep to just buff out, but it will be better than it was.

As for the screen, the nuts holding it to the panel were a little loose. With the top off, I was able to realign the screen and tighten them up.

Thanks again for the help.

You may be able to drop-fill the deep ones with thin super glue and when dry scape off the excess and then polish. See this then you can find oodles of info, videos, etc. https://www.stewmac.com/video-and-ideas/online-resources/learn-about-instrument-finishing-and-finish-repair/super-glue-drop-fill-quick-fix-for-finish-chips/?srsltid=AfmBOopkguZ8VzgOasfXOcq5z1axQoGd2w6DgGd7woeLqSOaLoNtYnKp I’ve had it done on even high end nitro finish acoustics, one of the miracles you can’t see.
