I was never a fan growing up in the 70’s and 80’s, but for some reason started enjoying Black Sabbath and Ozzy’s music later in life
Love Ozzy’s voice, the music, along with the lyrics in some of his songs. The band has some real talent, with the rhythms, beats, and melodies that just kind of hook you. Best Heavy Metal band by far.

And today listening to Ozzy’s station on SiriusXM Radio, they’re actually playing some of his music, which they seemed to rarely do in the past. Heard a lot good songs by Qzzy I had never heard before.

That’s cool. I just in the eighties both began playing in bands (blues rock, blues and rock) and also moving away from anything really current as far as my own listening and explored jazz, an idiom and genre that captivated me ever since. I don’t dislike Ozzy or the band, I just am not attracted to the music, and have so much else to listen to that it all (the whole genre of Heavy Metal with very few exceptions as well) just falls to the wayside and holds no appeal to me. (I don’t listen to any streaming radio, occasionally I listen to NPR in the car).

I feel for the family; I know how hard the last years have been for them, from personal experience.

I can relate to everything you said, to include listening to the SXM station today.

I made the mistake of not going with the premium sound system in my vehicle. FM sounds terrible, and XM sounds a little better, so I’m stuck with that for now. I’ve gone nuts in the past having elaborate custom stereo systems installed in my vehicle, and they have all been ripped off, so not going that route again. Also I’d gather spend the money on the home rig.

One thing i find very interesting about a lot of Black Sabbath’s and Ozzy’s music are the change ups in tempo and beat, to the point where it sounds like a completely different song.

Good analysis and break down of a classic Black Sabbath song and Ozzy’s vocal style.

The sound system in my car is pretty okay really, but I spent three decades in Austin, Texas mostly with only a motorcycle and I’m not used to listening to music in a car in general, and tend to just leave the system off and pay attention to the sound of the vehicle and the road. Even though it’s been a dozen years now I’m still not that used to driving a car as my main vehicle (I no longer really need to drive often).

I really like how positive she is being about the nasal tonality of Ozzy’s voice. It’s clear that it grates on her, but yet she is genuinely complimentary in context of the song and genre. It’s cute.
