Good he made it through the show in Birmingham.
Ozzy was a personality bigger than virtually anybody. I will miss him mucho.
Almost seemed like he embraced his situation better than many people do.
We knew it was past due, and still it feels too soon. “I don’t want to live forever, but I don’t wanna die.”
RIP Ozzy - and keep barking at the moon!
Oh man - thats brilliant
My very first album purchase was Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. My parents hated it!
that’s what it’s all about!
For those that may be interested in revisiting Ozzy and Black Sabbath on vinyl the most recent Rhino releases remastered by Kevin Gray are sonically most worthy, FWIW.
I have long enjoyed the irony that he thought the bat was a rubber prop.
Hard to believe he’s really gone… I’ve loved his music since the early eighties. When I read about his passing my first thoughts were of his song “See you on the other side”.
He had so many songs talking about death - they have a different impact now that he is gone.
RIP, what a life
War Pigs was a brilliant song. How fitting for events happening now.
War Pigs is a brillant masterpiece that captures the on going state of the military industrial complex.
I thought the use of War Pigs (even heavily edited) in the closing credits of 300: Rise of an Empire was a very nice touch. Proves your point, I think, of how apropos the song’s intent is even today.
Lost a lot of my hearing to his music!
Mama he is coming home…
What?!?!? Can you type that louder?
RIP Ozzy. I’ve never been a fan but it’s great that he had the success he did–I admire anyone who can make a living playing music. I feel for his family that had to endure the hardship of six or seven years of progressing Parkinson’s disease. My condolences to them.
