Unfortunately for their fans a lot of artists die of self inflicted poisons of one type or another. I think the trait goes hand in hand with the ability to do what they do for the rest of us mere mortals.

Good lord, I’m old. I remember her infamous appearance on Saturday Night Live… and the Stones…and Devo…and Paul Simon…

Her son took his own life about 16 months ago. She has been struggling ever since. May she Rest in peace!

Unfortunately I don’t believe it is limited to the artistic community. We are more aware of their troubles and demons thus sensitized to it as they are in the limelight. Sadly such a loss.
