How did you get this information? An interesting tidbit.

This is now a big red flag for me. Using a forum as the only method as customer support is unreasonable. At a minimum once you put in a support request you should at least get a case number and a method of following progress.

Wow, I didn’t know we could go back. Can you explain to a guy with an analog brain, what step’s you took to be able to leave Early Access? I’d love to do the same myself.

Indeed. In fact, in more than a few sites for products I have purchased, I’ve repeatedly witnessed the staff encourage a customer, or potential customer, to open a ticket for assistance. In fact, in a few instances where there are complaints, I’ve seen a staff member ask why they couldn’t find a ticket number for the issue, only to find out the customer never pursued that route. Or personally, I’ve asked a question to find out if “X” is normal behavior, and have been encouraged to open a ticket for the issue.

One place where a forum vs. a ticket system is more efficient is when many users have the same issue. Could you imagine being on the support staff and getting 300 of the same issue in the ticket system? At least on a forum, one person can report an issue, others can reply they have the same issue, and staff has all the information gathered in one place. Or proactively, staff could post they have “Y” as a problem, mention a possible solution, ask for feedback on others who have had the issue, and give a rough timeline and/or updates on progress towards fixing it.

There’s no ideal solution, but I agree that using only a forum for support is not a good situation. Especially if the staff takes a cavalier attitude towards customer complaints and requests. And even more so when the product is as expensive as Roon.

For all of our griping here, I don’t think Roon does everything 100% perfectly, but it does everything else I want it to. Too bad it now has a deal breaker that, for many, could cause them to cancel their subscription to their software.

My Team supports 170K unique healthcare users 24x7. I can imagine getting 3000 tickets for the same issue :wink:.

The underlying issue comes from how users express the same issue differently and how the help desk translates that to a ticket.

My better half likes the “creamsicle” swirl, which is orange and vanilla. But given health issues for both of us, there’s no swirl for me (maybe once a month as a treat) and sugar-free frozen yogurt for her, if they have a good flavor that week.

I miss the days, like three decades ago, when I could dive into a tub of Edy’s Rocky Road and not have any worries. :rofl:

This is very interesting. Two huge changes with Roon in the past several days. Better search and an amazing increase in artist and album metadata.
