Roon 2.0 Released

Working well here. You can switch between sources right on the page. Really slick feature!

I have. No issues. My core is on a Roon Nucleus.

running roonserver on 2012 mac mini, which has been flawless.

Fortune favors the bold, so i should probably just push the button

Nothing like living on the wild side!

Yes, I did last night. No issues on a Nucleus Plus. The added meta data is fantastic.

I upgraded last night.

Mac OS and iOS remote seem less responsive.

Since Roon support replies can be weeks, I’ll wait for the next dot release before worrying.

I upgraded yesterday and no issues at all. I also love the new features.

Me too. I was just thinking that it’s working the best it ever has with this update.

Roon Radio is crushing it tonight.
I enjoy despising Roger Waters but his new thing is unacceptably wonderful.

Oddly enough, I strongly prefer his version of Comfortably Numb. Wide margin. Odd.

He’s had years to perfect it. He strikes me as someone who methodically approaches whatever he is interested in.

If Roon users have been having problems with gapless playback, today I upgraded my Nucleus Plus to 32GB RAM. I can’t definitively state that my gapless playback issue with Qobuz is resolved, it’s too early to declare victory, but if my system keeps performing like it is right now, I’d recommend any of you having issues to consider a memory upgrade.

Prior to this upgrade I’ve tried restarting Roon, rebooting the Nucleus, and shutting down the Nucleus and doing cold boots. None of those made a difference. From the moment I booted up after the memory upgrade I’ve had excellent gapless playback.

YMMV.

I put the extra RAM (and a nice fast SSD) in my Nucleus+ as soon as I bought it. I replaced it with the Pink Faun and let the N+ go soon after that upgrade. Memory and storage are so cheap now that it seems like a no brainer to have plenty of both in the system.

I think I look at Nucleus Plus replacements several times a week. They all seem to have pluses and minuses. I tried to get a Pink Faun and MU-1 loaner last fall but wasn’t able to get either. Sooner or later I’ll get something. In the meantime running over fiber to the Rendu Signature SE sounds excellent to me which has led to my lackadaisical search for an alternative.

Maybe I need to start telling myself it sounds terrible…

Personally I dont think there is much (if any) difference in the playback SQ between the files served by the PF or the N+. (Don’t tell anyone here that I said that ;-))
