Check your Roon remote version. When mine differed from core, search failed miserably. Check for updates manually in the app stores perhaps, and just restart the core.
I’m sorry, my suggestion is then obviously useless. Oh, well

The dropdown has improved and is now learning at a much faster rate. That is, I see the same search returning more accurate results over the course of days / hours.
When I hit return I don’t find those results to be any different than what I was getting before. I have a tendency to look for artist and clicky clicky to what I want from there though. I wouldn’t call myself an advanced search user.

It seems to me search was awful when I ran the first Beta. However it has improved as it apparently learns us and seems more intuitive at finding things for me now.
I was actually a tad startled…
Shortly after installing 88x I searched for an artist that shares name with many other artists. Nothing matched what I wanted in the drop down. Hit return, eventually found the correct artist, played the album I was looking for. Later that day I did the same search, drop down now showed the correct artist and the album I had played earlier. It learned! It’s learning! Dig your underground shelters now

If it is any consolation I thought Al was talking the search on the Forums here, and I agreed that it now works in some way I don’t understand🤷🏻♂️

The on-line search is only marginally useful, but this is a common complaint of forum software.
I thus suggest the Google alternative whenever searching come up. Google works much better than the integrated search. I hope my mentioning it again helps someone.
