Roon Module code will be availible on Thursday

I will be making BridgeII Roon ready code (Version 2.7.11) available Thursday morning.

To get full functionality please upgrade to Torreys on the DS. On the DS due to a module change after DS Torreys was released, the version will show up as 0.0.0. On the DSjr and PWD it will show up as 2.7.11.

On the DSjr Please upgrade to the Torreys Beta before updating the BridgeII code. http://updates.psaudio.com/dak/DSJR94.zip

If you have issues update the DSjr to Torreys, please email me at dennis@psaudio.com, as I am trying to find the frequency of the issue.

On the PWD please upgrade to 2.9.7 before updating the BridgeII code. http://updates.psaudio.com/dak/PWD2.9.7.zip

If upgrade returns immediately, wait 10 minutes before power cycling!

To upgrade, power Cycle your DAC’s and the update should show up after it boots.

Dennis

Thanks Dennis.

I’m trying to understand how to do the update when the new code is published. Is this the procedure? http://www.psaudio.com/ps_how/how-to-update-bridge-firmware/

In a nutshell, the update is initiated from the front panel of the DS rather than via an SD card (assuming the Bridge II is on a network with internet access), correct?

Thanks!

No that is for Bridge I. You update the Bridge II via the front panel of your DAC. It is not via an SD-card, but via the internet. Your DAC will show the Version of the update that is available and have a button to upgrade to it.

Dennis

It is now Available.

My DS (bridge II) has no internet connection.

Is it possible to make the update via files on SD ? (like we always do)

Thanks.

No, there is no possible way to do it via SD-card. If you have a windows machine, there is a way to do it. e-mail me directly at dennis@psaudio.com

Up and running on the Directstream. Turned power off, then back on to initialize. Then went to the Bll. Update did not show immediately. Give it a few min. When update shows up The update itself took about 5 minutes. Playing now with corner art and volume control on my iPad. Thanks Dennis,Paul and Ted

It’s not totally obvious, but after re-booting the DS Sr, you can touch the Bridge icon on the front panel in order to see the message that 2.7.11 is ready, then touch the button to update.

Playing Roon now, no issues.

I have tried several times to down load and unzip (that bit works) copied the files over to the same USB I used for the first DSJR93 beta (after formatting to FAT) and the DSJr just boots as normal…its no seeing the firmware beta update for 94. Ive tried it 3 times and never picks up the beta load

It is saying there is a bridge update there too…but I have not tried it

UPDATE…the Force did the trick…now doing the BridgeII update (it showed the 2.7.11 being available) but I did have some issue getting a DHCP address - might have bumped the LAN cable but it came good in the end.

wizardfoz I just sent you the force load. it is here if you did not get it. http://updates.psaudio.com/dak/94force.zip

Dennis,

I have rebooted my DS with BII twice, but still note getting the Bridge update. I am running Torreys final. Anything special I need to do?

Thanks…

Mine did not load the update until I told it to, which is as it should be.

It’s not obvious, but after re-booting the DS Sr, you apparently must touch the Bridge icon on the front panel in order to see the message that 2.7.11 is ready, then touch the button there to update.

The process is apparently not totally automatic, nor should it be - you need to take action to permit it to update. PSA shouldn’t be like Microsoft shoving Windows 10 updates down users’ throats without permission. Someone recently won a $10,000 lawsuit against them for that.

You need to wait until the network iCon turns green or maybe a little longer. Also you need internet access, and your Gateway and at least on DNS server must be set correctly.

Dennis,

What happens if I want to go back to Yale. Torreys apparently hasn’t been voiced yet, and still has that edgy sound especially on female voices, and even on some male voices that have some higher harmonics. This edginess shows up the most with Roon, and it’s not as noticeable in JRMC21, but it’s still there. Good thing is that Roon to the bridge works fine. Kudos for that. Any idea when the voicing will be done and the final Torreys will be released? This is on the Junior DS, by the way.

I have network access, have waited until it turns green (even forced it by going into bridge settings and then exiting so it turns red and then green). I let it sit for at least 10 minutes each time before touching the bridge icon to check for the update - just shows N/A…

Thx

It need more than just the network being up, it need to be able to access the Internet, which sounds like it is not working. email me at dennis@psaudio.com, we can have you do it manually if you have access to a windows machine.

I have a Direct Stream Jr. Firmware updated with latest Beta, Bridge II updated, Roon sees it as an endpoint and will play to it, but there appears to be no analog output to the amplifier. Prior to the update, Tidal would play.

suggestions?

Check the volume control is selected to be displayed…or at least make sure its up and not muted on the DS

Check that you have the proper input selected.

Dennis

It says Bridge II
