The good thing about the Allocator is that it already has an excellent power cable integrated and no additional one is necessary. Luca, you don’t need an additional Stealth Dream 2020. ![]()
So how is the „priority rating“ meaning what has the biggest effect/impact? Grid Protector / EMI P. / Allucator?
Considering 100% the current improvement IN MY SYSTEM brought by their cumulative effect, I’d say:
30% GRID
30% EMI
25% Allocator
15% MULTI GUARDS
IMO the removal of just one of the above mentioned devices can compromise the general performance even more than expected: 1+1+1+1 = >4
@Jdee what Scherzinger device are you planning to buy exactly?
Very interesting! It’s actually all you listed ![]()
And in the addition also the fuses for the apartment - but that most likely at a later stage.
Will be interesting how the Allocator compares to the AudioQuest Niagara 5000 + Dragon HC power cord.
How does the Allocator work in conjunction with your Powerzone?
They are separated, the PZ on the front wall powering amp and DAC, the Allocator on the side wall powering server/streamer and ancillary devices.
Having said that, they work well together in my system, I like the way they both have impact on sound quality in general.
Grid Protector and EMI Protector finally in my setup ![]()
Regarding the settings, did you start putting all 3 switches from 0 to 1 at the same time? Or every single one at a time?
One at a time and then try it with the power supply.
What were your findings on the way of finding your settings ?
First and most impactful solution:
- Keep the EMI elevated at least 50-60 cm from the floor
- Place the EMI centered on the front wall (behind the speakers)
- Plug the wall wart of both of them into a wall socket (different circuit from hifi)
- Plug the GRID fixed cable into the wall socket (SAME circuit of wifi)
- Sett all the 6 switches to II and listen
What do you hear?
Second option:
GRID
Set the right/left switches to I then to II and listen (central set to 0)
When you find your preferred result, set the central switch to I then to II
What do you like more?
EMI
Set the right/left switches to I then to II and listen (central set to 0)
When you find your preferred result, set the central switch to I then to II
What do you like more?
I guess you can easily choose a “first” solution in a few hours.
Next days you will fine tune them to match your taste even better.
Elevating the Grid Protector is Singularly Important. Put it down on the floor and miss out on what it can do.
Hello there,
I haven’t been out of the house for the last two weeks. Schnerzinger is to blame. I can’t verbally describe what happened when I swapped the Schnerzinger Resolution cables for my existing beloved cables.
I’ve always wished for such naturalness and now it’s come true…
Thank you again for making me aware of Schnerzinger!!!
After two weeks of GP & EMI I am very excited about their effects - and also customizing options.
Also looking forward to meeting them at High End in Munich.
It’s a beast!
The big box is made of metal and is really heavy, built like a tank.
Next week I’m going to start the refurbishment of the room. I’m just removing all CDs and LPs and thousands of other things (again!) - a PITA!
What is it?
Wall socket with dust of stars and unicorns!!!
The wall socket is the best on the market - you will be amazed.
It’s heavy metal!
Plutonium 238
Calling all Schnerzinger owners.
I had 4 Stack Audio footers underneath my Grid and three underneath my EMI protector.
I wasn’t sure what these brought to the table but I’ve recently found out.
I added a new piece to my system, a LPS for my video processor. I was getting a bit of noise from it so I thought I’d borrow the footers from underneath the Schnerzinger products and try them out under the video processor and the LPS.
(I was surprized I hadn’t footers under my video processor already.)
It did reduce the noise from the LPS but when I listened to my music system. the sound was still there but it had lost it’s authority.
It wasn’t less in bass slam but I just found something was missing.
Naturally I’ve to purchase another 7 footers to bring my music system but to how I know it should sound.
So, any other Schnerzinger owners should investigate Stack audio footers underneath their kit.
Obviously the EQ1’s are the ones to go for as the Schnerzinger’s are heavy but well within the EQ1’s limits.
