Soundtracks usually leave me cold. This movie really grabbed me. The cinematography was just gorgeous, and the music was fantastic. This might not be the category to post these comments, but if you like blues, especially acoustic blues, this movie might be your cup of tea. Entertaining to the max. Watching the credits, which went by too fast for my liking, I noticed that Christone “kingfish” Ingram was a contributor to the soundtrack as was Bobby Rush and Alvin Youngblood Hart. Buddy Guy had a very excellent acting part that really took me by surprise. The theater had the volume turned up and the soundtrack was immersive to say the least. There is a dance hall scene that is difficult to describe, but it demonstrates the evolution of blues music from the past to the present to future iterations of the blues, if it can be strictly labeled as such. I am going back tonight to see it in IMAX. An original film that shifts in tone about halfway through, which may turn people off. I thought I might be one of those, but I was pleasantly surprised and very much entertained. Highly recommended.
