Chris,
Was rereading topic and saw you noted inserts way back in the #80 range post.
Thanks
I really think Paul needs to listen to Dark Side of the Moon with the FR-30 and give one of those reviews with all of the colorful words. I heard the originals way back when at axpona. It seemed like they might do that recording justice.
I am sure they will! The new FR-30 components are on their way to us now and should arrive this Friday. Chris will then be able to put the finished crossover together and the fun of voicing begins!
Good luck! Hopefully it goes well for you. It must be hard to finally reach a satisfactory endpoint and say “this is it” for a product that will receive critical scrutiny by very fussy people.
Great news. There was recent talk here that the stand was modified from the last photo. A recent one would be nice. Not trying to reopen a touchy subject, just get a feel for the finalized esthetic.
Here’s the pic from the current catalog that came with the Strata:
Assume that’s fairly current. Any non-linearity of lines are due to my wideangle phone shot of the catalog.
I do wish they would put a pdf of the catalog out there. I hadn’t realized they even had a catalog until I received my Stellars. It’s nicely done.
Handsome devil, that. Thanks for posting Mark. If anyone wants a catalog, just email us sales@psaudio.com and we’ll send you one.
I was just trying to keep your overhead low, Paul, since I’m regrettably not in the market for upgrades right now. But will request one. I do love the all-caps in the logo now. It’s a muscular look.

Thanks, but no worries. Go for it!
Catholic guilt. Whatta ya expect? Lol
I’m not a giant fan of that recording - but I just think that might really be a swell recording to listen to as I am sure your speakers are going to plumb the depths. And the heartbeat might be insane along w all of the other niceties
I’m confused about the FR-30s. The picture is even confusing. What am I looking at. Are the two round things subwoofers? If so the grill is hidding the other speakers? How much? When? Comparision to the AN-3s? Even a hint would be nice. Your sneek peek is as frustrating as watching the dance of 7 veils and getting stuck on the 6th vail.
Bottom round things - powered subs. Top round things - midbass couplers. Under the top grillcloth, concentric mid and tweet. These ARE the AN-3’s in their current iteration with a new name.
I’ve yet to see an estimate of this system’s sensitivity, broadband pinknoise to the upper three-quarters only… Paul, do you have a guess?
3 days ago above, Paul wrote, “…The new FR-30 components are on their way to us now and should arrive this Friday. Chris will then be able to put the finished crossover together and the fun of voicing begins!”
Got it; thx.
Hi Jeffrey. Best guess I have from what the speaker designer’s told me is just under 90dB or maybe even hitting 90dB/watt/meter
