No, I haven’t done that yet. Boy, that’s a slippery slope since I loved RedCloud lol!
yes, indeed and i compared all snowmass and redcloud and deided to keep redcloud: realism and life are essentials for me. And the air around the musicians… i recompared yesterday with friends and it is a choice between a certain comfortable sound , with musical scene well 'glueded, (snowmasss v1) and a scene with real musicians in real espace which enjoy and share emotions … (redcloud…). All that is certainly system dependant, and i use usb input with pc/ jplayfemto. The bridge card is in place, not connected to ethernet. (it is unuseful but if i put the card out the sound is really degradated, the voice loosing lot of flesh).
Your situation is the very reason why the Directstream DAC is so exceptional. it allows you to choose which software best fits the energy of your system! In mine Snowmass is on a whole other level over Redcloud. It is great that we all can be happy!
I’m finding 3.0.5 sounds better with 3.14 than it did with 3.10.
So does 3.0
I agree. I had been using 3.0. Now I’m not sure which I prefer. But it’s great to be able to change any time
I still prefer 3.0 over 3.05. There is a more immersive feeling in the music.
ozzy
Me too. 3.0 still the best.
I thought I would give 3.05 a shot at being partners with DMP 3.14 to see if any improvement in sound quality could be had with the pairing…Well…I’m very sorry to report that the sd card slot went belly up in the process…and now my DS has to go on a round trip back to Boulder for repairs.
Owners beware…of possible failure! Cost to repair plus shipping is not cheap.
I think someone else had the same thing happen to them,if I remember correctly. It seems like the receiving mechanism either pushed in towards the inside of the unit or maybe the set/spring system failed, either way,it’s broke…Not a happy camper for sure…
I’m back to 3.0
