Speaker positioning questions

I have owned DACJR, DACSR and now the MK2. The noise drop from the first step up was significant but the noise reduction with the MK2 is in another league. You have taken some good steps to beat down noise. Just wait to get the MK2 installed. The noise drop immediately apparent and after this new base line you can fiddle with the other stuff.

And yes, as @tony22 noted, getting rid of things between the speakers can be a big improvement.
Highly recommended. The downside might be needing longer cables.

great advice from all. appreciate it!

Spent day moving the flat screen tv

Definite increase in depth and width of the stage

Possibly, a little too deep/recessed

More listening today…this is what Saturdays are for

TV screen in the middle causes reflection which makes you lose depth

Live with it a bit. You (and your nice looking dog there! :grinning:) may like it better. If you have The Loudspeaker from PS Audio, try playing the depth tracks to see how they sound.

I have similar Saturday plans and will be interested in your perception of how this changes as you dial in the set up and speaker placement.
Paul has commented in more than one place that the sound stage can extend beyond the physical boundaries of the room.
Maybe the influence of volume in creating a life size image become more important as perceived depth increases?
My impression is the sound stage should be consistent with the mental image of what it should look like were you to be sitting in an audience.
Good luck!

How tall are your ceilings? That big glass door might be trouble imho. Does the sound change when you close the blinds?

Beautiful pup. They’re somehow better than music!

Better with blinds closed, a quietness/softness

Ceilings 9 feet

Speaker front 50 inches from glass, 40 inches from closed blinds

It might be fun for you to explore a listening mode option, where you place an acoustic treatment or two, when you want to listen closely. Best of luck!
