Precisely
I sell nothing
Mistaken identity got the ro at the end of your name correct. akro but you may of been mistaken for the the ro as in fro who sell stealth cables.
Just had a similar experience with my Audi, now a proud owner of a Japanese vehicle.
My apologies, confused you with Fro.
Still no Stealth here, and most happy with a full loom of Audience Front Row.
I have two German cars in the garage; the other one’s maintenance cost is even higher. I changed the battery on it for $3800, and only Porsche dealer could do it. I changed the battery on Mercedes by myself for $300.
My last US car was a Ford Explorer many years ago, it was nothing but problems. The repair cost total was over the price of the car itself. When I dumped it for a Lexus, we had 10 years of problem free rides.
Had three German vehicles. Loved them all. That said, maintenance costs became a concern, and the fact that they do not age well. When I was chasing jazz I tended to put 25,000 miles on a car annually. I have reined in that behavior after blowing my knee out. Due to my height opportunities for a vehicle are somewhat limited.
It’s great to have and understand the design and construction parameters of a cable. But, in the final analysis, it has to sound “right”. If the correlation between the numbers and the outcome was
exact, our job would be easy. It is not.
Trust your ears and compare. Your system, your music.
Make a choice. Rob a bank.
I sold my..sniff..sniff..daily driver Porsche 911 shortly after I retired. I was aware of the normal annual costs of upkeep, now that I don’t do it myself. So I let her go. “I love you but you must leave now. It’s not you, it’s me”.
So now I buy stereo stuff. Yay.
What on Earth does that mean?
It could mean nothing, or it could mean anything!
Ah, ha! " . . The best choice depends on your individual preferences and system . . "
Ah, so we’re all correct for our own little world.
Joe, my question was simply emphasizing that there are logical problems in saying that high-end Stealth cables present audio “truth” when different Stealth cables provide a different version of that truth. It isn’t logical - as you point out.
Paul, actually I’d be happy to handle Stealth’s version of audio truth - I just don’t want to pay for it. And which Stealth cable is actually the truest of them all?
Mirror mirror on the wall, which is the truest of them all?
…and music. Always music. I too knew the maintenance costs, but was hoping for better. I clearly understand why many lease Audi and BMW, as they are excellent at under 40,000 miles. My driving habits just don’t allow for a lease option.
I found the results of a ChatGPT prompt interesting on four different cables which I will share here:
Cable | Sonic Profile | Strengths | Possible Limitations |
---|---|---|---|
AudioQuest Dragon | Precise, controlled, dynamic | Bass control, noise floor, transient detail | Can sound a touch analytical |
Stealth Dream 20-20 | Warm, dimensional, organic | Texture, flow, 3D imaging | May soften transients slightly |
Revelation Cryogenic | Fast, detailed, airy | High-frequency extension, detail | Might sound lean or bright |
Furutech Project V1 | Smooth, neutral, refined | Natural tonality, liquidity, balance | Less “wow” factor for some listeners |
I own both AQ Dragon and Revelation PCs and interested in the Dream 20-20 as well as the Furutech, hence the selected cable choices for the prompt. The output from ChatGPT is interesting with results reinforcing my aspiration to find a Dream 20-20 to audition in my system.
There are always exceptions. My 2014 Audi A4 went to a new owner with 142,000 miles on it.
Clutch, timing chain, water pump and high pressure fuel pump at around 100K. No complaints.
It’s been his daily driver for a couple years and we’re still friends.
I’ve been leasing Audis for many years. Love the cars and I don’t drive too much. Always great to drive and very reliable.
Just got this in to try for a while on my Shunyata EVEREST power conditioner.
Stealth Cloude Grande LE 20amp
Interested in seeing your thoughts on this as I have the Shunyata Everest and a Puritan PSM 156, both requiring 20a/IEC19 plugs. Are you TurboTT on AG?
Our 2016 Q3 left the herd at 136k with no maintenance surprises, no major maintenance costs. Our plan was to replace it with a 2024 Q3 which was a shadow if the former. Decontented and bland.
