Stellar P3 regenerator first impressions *UPDATED *

Yes, I bought my Furutech power and speaker cables (and Furutech connectors) from Chris @ VH Audio.

Have you tried Multiwave both on and off? I was surprised to find slight sound differences by toggling between those two options.

Can someone tell me how often the CleanWave feature is supposed to be used on the P3?

There is no rule of which I am aware. Use it as often as you would like for your system. You can use it as often as once per track, or as seldom as once a year.

It is for connected equipment so use it as often as you like. Some people;e do it at the beginning of every listening session while others once a week.,

Thanks Paul, I’ll hit it just before I begin a listening session. :+1:

Thanks,

Good to know, I am experiencing the same thing on a new P3 as well.

Less volume and smooth, almost sounds in slow motion. As you say dull.

I will report back in a week or two.

Welcome, polar_bear!

(My first post) Thanks all for sharing your experiences and thanks to experts weighing in as well. I have a P3 on order that will replace my AQ Niagra 1200. I’ll be running Stellar Phono, BHK pre, M700’s, and perhaps my MoFI UltraDeck M TT. Now I know to give some time for the P3 to burn in before arriving at SQ conclusions. I am a real PS Audio fan boy and not embarrassed to admit it. Hmmm, what can I sell so I can get those M1200’s? I do have a 1962 Fiat 600 with suicide doors imported from my last tour of duty in Italy that I can sell. Heck, maybe I could buy the DSD Sr as well. Anyone interested? :grinning:

hp, I also have PSA DS Sr, Uptone EtherRegen, and Cable Matters Ethernet cable. but I’m curious about the Lumin. I stream files wirelessly from my desktop to my modem/router, then via ethernet from my modem/router to the EtherRegen, then the Cable Matters cable to the DS Sr Bridge II. And they sound awesome together.

What benefits does the Lumin provide?

Does the Clean function have the same benefit with the class D products?

With Strata I think I hear a more well defined center that is a bit more fleshed out right after Cleanwave.

Hi , I’m a bit confused is the Output LED green or Blue without anything inside backwards?
Because @yann.pigeare wrote “the green led is quite bright”
On my P3 all LED’s always are blue .

Does the P3 beat the AQ 1200 based on your ownership experience so far? Why or why not?

I believe the early builds had a green output led and then it was changed to blue. It sure is bright!

I have not yet received my P3 - parts are on back order. I did hear a clear difference when plugging in the AQ 1200 (clearer highs and punchier bass). Once I get the P3 delivered I’ll let you know my impressions as compared to the 1200.

Sounds good thanks. AQ Niagara 1200 is well regarded by many so interested to know if P3 can better it in your opinion

I have one on order. Ship date at time of order was estimated to be mid-june which obviously has not happened. What is your source for the back order situation and were you given an estimated ship date? My order date was 05/20. I was going to email Monday for info.

Before comparing an SP3 against anything else you must have run it in - mine took two weeks to improve - I finally ran it heavily loaded with amps to get each zone and eack outlet burnt in. It now sounds very different from when I first got it.

I ordered last minute in late May. I was not given an estimated ship date other than " some delay on acquiring parts to build your P3 shipping could take up to six weeks." I figure I’ll get mine after you get yours. Keep me posted, I’ll do the same.

Great advice. I will do as you suggest. I do hope that I can actually hear a difference in SQ - especially after burn in. If not, I would be able to justify the purchase. I’ll give it time though.
