I knew break-in was a thing, and that this vehicle’s sound system would hopefully improve with time, but I’m actually a little surprised how different it sounds now, 6000 miles later, compared to day one.
No matter the song the sound is no longer offensive in any way, more on that later. Contrast that to finger nails on a chalkboard when it was new, and every song was offensive and unlistenable.
Glad I didn’t spend any money upgrading the stock system, it’s more than acceptable for a vehicle sound system. Which brings me to my final point, there is actually an advantage to having a lower resolution system. I can listen to all of my poorly recorded music in my vehicle, and enjoy it, due to it’s lower resolving nature.
Interesting a demographic that optimizes his/her home system with speaker position adjustment of an inch here and a degree of toe in there would ever complain about car ‘audio’. Yep, that’s my demographic. But, I simply accept the interior of a car is not and never will be a proper acoustic environment and I just save my pennies for more tweaks for my home system. As for the car, I frankly dislike driving so much (you would too if you were a Chicagoan) I endeavor to get out from behind the wheel as quickly as possible. Do I care my car ‘audio’ is terrible? Not really.
Driving in Denver is no picnic either. But jamming to some good tunes seems to take the edge off.
