Streamer/Transport/DAC combo help and Question

Thank you. Another thing I hear is the Eversolo app is better than Rose but a Rose sounds better. The Gen 2 does sound like a bargin as well as a used Rose 250.

Thanks for the experience based advice…

As to the sound of the two companies units I’ve heard it both ways but you need to consider the price difference of the units you are comparing as I don’t think Rose has anything close to what the new Gen 2 cost or even an A-8. For the two units you are looking at it’s $859 vs $2700. Plus as I’ve said before once they are in stock you can try the Gen 2 for 30 days from Amazon Likely other places to like AA,MD or Crutchfield but you would have to pay the return shipping for them.

Rose 250 used is about 1500. Still double.
I think id be happy with either. Its not so much about money spent but money wasted. No need to have a pre for instance or spend 2500 on stuff ill never use.

I had a 520 but got it at cost. No big deal. I list the 250 as at least i know Rose. But you cant beat the Gen 2 at 900 bucks. And i hear the app is great.

Oh and i keep forgetting Amazon. Thank you. I usually dont shop there for audio !

I have a streamer/ matrix/dac setup.
Using an Auralic Aries G1.1 streaming transport. Perfect for my needs!

Me either unless I just want to try out something.

as to sound quality… I’m of the mind that although one streamer might measure better than another, one still has to consider the rest of the playback chain – as well as one’s ears.

My system is nice enough, and my ears are good, but they’re 60 years old. I’m guessing younger or more experienced listeners (and ones with a more resolving system) might hear differences between two streamers that I might not.

Sometimes, too, I just don’t have the patience/interest to try to discern hair-splitting differences. Life’s too short and it just doesn’t matter. (To me.)

What matters to me in this excercise is I dont go backwards. I have a new amp/integrated and am building around it. Im very familiar with what the separates system sounded like previously. I want = that or better. I know I can do that as I have been there before with a Rose/Matrix/DSJ combo.

Possibilities are endless. Found a nice Innous Pulse mini out there.

I have learned a lot about streamers in a week! Lol

BlueSound NODE 2i, implementation is easypeasy, OS is stable, and may be controlled with iPad/iPhone/Android device. Great with Tidal/Qobuz. Has an internal DAC which will get an early adopter up and running with minimal effort and expense. Ours was relegated to my wife’s office system, which is no more.

Any one interested in an as new BlueSound Node 2i PM me, I’ll make it worth your while.

Quick shout out to all who contributed on the thread. No purchase yet, but im a lot more saavy in what im after now. And i got some education on the front end of the process as well.

Thank you…

In closing, thanks to all who chimed in. With all the input, it seemed to me for sure there was not a one box solution out there.

Also seems i could best most boxes I was looking at going transport. Do one thing well. I already got a good DAC and matrix/clock.

Popped in to my local TMR and got a Aurender N100H. USB out only. 2TB HDD.

Still learning the app but its a good one and I am enjoying excellent audio. All of what I heard with Rose but a bit more emphasis and detail in mids and highs. Ill probably end up a Aurender fan boy. 100 is a little dated but next ones up (150 and 1000) are 3500. Im good right here for a bit.
