Everyone of them had to be returned at least once, Lush Life twice. In each instance the vinyl was warped. More trouble than it is worth IME. Wish I had your luck.
A bit of a surprise as the CD leaflet does not acknowledge it as stereo or mono for that matter. Yet Kenny is hard left, drums hard right.
Oh you had to return the One Stepâs, too? How unfortunate. How did you like the lush life compared to the AP 45 if you have both?
I didnât have to return the AP 45 , and did not do a head on comparison.
Ok, I thought if you buy the second expensive Craft reissue, you compare
I didnât make systematic CD comparisons, but when I read what people like Steve Hoffman write, it seems ordinary OJC reissues are usually much closer to the original master than any Japanese one. But I understood that Japanese reissues are especially popular in the US (home of the original masters) for whatever reason People always seem to prefer whatâs most uncommon and hard to get. But there are good SHM masterings also in my experience.
Just an amazing event.
CARMEN McRAE & BETTY CARTER: The Carmen McRae - Betty Carter Duets, Live at the Great American Music Hall, San Francisco
Released this year as part of the âForever Chick Coreaâ series. Apparently there will be 17 titles in all, but discogs currently only lists 12. Interestingly, it looks like there are some ECM tittles being reissued as part of the series.
I also picked up âCircling Inâ and âSong of Singingâ, my lp copies are beat.
I grabbed those three and also Return to Forever SHM-SACD. These represent my favorite Chick along with the two solo piano ECM titles.
It will be interesting to see what the remaining 5 titles will be.
Itâs great that they included the âCircleâ material, I donât think Circulus and Circling in were available on cd before.
Streaming it right now. Fantastic album. Placed an order for APâs SACD.
Very nice LP
Interesting fusion of so many genres!
Thatâs not good enoughâwhich format and version?
Iâm into the MoFi SACD these days.
