Ella Fitzgerald “The Concert Years” 4 disc set, disc 2

Yup, trad-rag, as I don’t follow ragtime or King Oliver these days so to these ears that’s what I hear. I suppose Dixieland may have been a better term, but at the moment Ragtime is what popped in my head. A horse of a different color. I suppose I could just say pop jazz, and be done with it. Overall a nice sounding LP, and excellent performance. Always fun when crate digging and stumbling into something like this in as new condition.

No ragtime there. And so many better Louis to listen to.

Ah, more trad-rag! Just kidding!

I need to dig that double disc out as Tim’s Snakeoil is always a great listen.

As you say. In my defense, I wasn’t looking for top Louis, but for that particular record as it was mentioned in a different thread.

As far as Louis Armstrong, I do enjoy his Hot 5 and 7’s.
