Strictly Jazz Sounds (Part 2)

At Earth School Nicole Mitchell and Alexander Hawkins.
I’ll be hearing Alexander with the Micheal Moore Quartet tonight. Preceding the concert a possible stop at Dusty Groove.
A strong combination, as the interplay between Nicole Mitchell and Alexander Hawkins is most refreshing. Playful comes to mind, especially on the track What Are You Afraid Of?.

Should be experiencing similar tonight at the Hungry Brain.
Clusone Trio/Clusone3, Michael Moore, Han Bennink, Ernst Reijseger. This is RamBoy release from Trio Clusone’s 1991 performance at the AMR Festival in Geneva Switzerland. A nice mix of covers including the music of Herbie Nichols, Misha Mengelberg, and Bobby Troup.

I listen transfixed to this Intakt recording. I should be doing errands, but the music has a vice grip on me. Sonics are great. Musho, Alexander Hawkins and Sofia Jernberg.

I haven’t delved into this yet, but it has arrived and just from the physical object itself in hand I know it will be magnificent.

Good Catch! Enthralling.

I could not make it to the Hungry Brain last Sunday, but I intend to go to the Cultural Center on this Thursday at 5 PM to see Jason A. on vibes!
