Synergistic Research ORANGE Quantum Fuse Vs Blue Fuse

Where did you buy for 108?

They ran a special when they first introduced Orange. It was buy three for …

I admit I didn’t hear much of a difference, maybe I put it in the wrong way around.

Who knows? It also might be that I’m hearing what I want to hear.

I think it’s more probably I just did it wrong. I heard nice improvements with these fuses in both my BHK-Pre and P12.

UK Based here, my next round of upgrades will be to fit the SR Orange Fuses in my BHK, DS and NPC.
Have Blacks and Blues elsewhere in my system, like them a lot.

The Pre and Nuwave are easy enough, but not sure how to access the internals of the Dac?
I know there’s special screws which pop the case open, but not sure if they are available in the UK, or a dealer could supply a set?

Anyone UK based popped open their DS Dac?

How did you orient the fuse?

I just stuck it in

I think you just horrified all the fuse-ophiles.

I just had my BHK pre out to replace the plinth it sits on and flipped the SR Blue for grins. Sounds the same, exceedingly good.

So…whay’s your initial impressions sans burn in time?

OH BOY, another SNAKE OIL from Synergistic Research crooks! $160 for a fuse! Literally they’re the thief of century.

I like it.
I don’t have all the superlatives that some folks have to describe it. My soundstage has not been transformed, etc.
But I like it.

Thank you ronp…appreciate your reply…wondering Orange vs Blue have you used the Quantum Blue
if you have any differences?

In fact, yes. I had a Blue fuse blow. I replaced it with an Orange and I didn’t hear a difference.

abeiklou…it seems most everything to you is snake oil…it seems some of your posts lean
in the snake oil direction…

Just look up graphene as a conductor, silver as a conductor which would reduce the impedance
at the power entryway to an amp or any other piece of gear…allowing better response.

If you purchase a muscle car and upgrade the stock upper and lower air intakes to flow more air
you would probably call it snake oil, yet regardless the engines improvemnet benefits greatly,
add then a mandrel bent set of headers and high flow exhaust now ya got some nice improvements…
yet snake oil to you perhaps…

But not snake oil for the hot rodder that enjoys newly gained power reponsive performance levels…

Chew on that for awhile

Thanks ronp appreciate your findings

Nope, I believe cables make difference, DAC that doesn’t always measure well can still sound better, and various other thing.

Synergetic Research folks are CROOKS, I’ve seen them at various shows, dealers, and have heard their FAKE demos. They play psychological games on ppl to make them think they hear a difference, worst was at last year’s Axpona. In contrast, one could clearly hear sound improvements in demos by Audioquest, and other companies.

That’s my opinion, I’d NOT buy a product from dishonest ppl. Even if they may have some products others enjoy, you can only trust a company if they’re honest in all cases.

I’m also into car racing, and have been tracking my cars for 15 years. I’d call something snake oil, if one claimed it add 100HP, and when I put it in, car doesn’t go any faster… it’s still snake oil no matter how much they pretend it’s otherwise.

Explain this… IF A FUSE can make such a big difference. I am sure PS Audio, and other companies who spend YEARS and MILLIONS researching products and how to make them sound better, could JUST do a MASS order of ā€œorange fuseā€ at a discount rate of $25, add it to their products and call it a day! Why bother engineer anything? Just change the fuse!

Geez, there’s an argument as old as the hills :^ / For one thing, they build to a price point and to add well over $100 per unit per fuse would be ludicrous. That’s why there’s after market products, for those who like to tweak and squeeze every last bit of goodness from their components. Those that don’t care and are perfectly satisfied stock don’t have to waste their time. Everybody wins yet you still complain.
